POINTS OF INTEREST
1. MAINTENANCE ROOM 10
Atlantica Casino has just one maintenance room, located to the south beyond Reed and Roger’s magic stage.
Inside you find the makings for the holy arms combo weapon (a box of nails and a training sword), along with a construction hat that can be merged with one of the many beer bottles around stage to create a health-replenishing beer hat.
2. COMBO CARD: HOLY ARMS
Inspect Atlantica Casino’s south wall (near the craps tables) to locate a poster that gives Chuck the notion to build the holy arms combo weapon. Now you can earn even more PP from the holy arms you build in the casino’s maintenance room!
3. RIDE THE WAVES
Behind Atlantica Casino’s west statue lies a challenging minigame called Ride the Waves. This one’s similar to the bull-riding game at Americana Casino; hop onto the dolphin and press the onscreen buttons to hold tight as Chuck thrashes all about.
Play to win cash and PP — the more times you win, the bigger the payouts!
4. KILLER BLACKJACK
Explore the east side of the casino to discover a video blackjack game affixed to the far wall. Place a bet to be dealt your two cards—the object is to approach a score of 21 without “busting” (scoring over 21).
Aces are scored as either one point or 11, depending on which would be most beneficial to your hand. Kings, queens, and jacks are worth 10 points apiece. All other cards are scored at face value.
After placing your bet and being dealt your initial two cards, use the machine’s buttons to either “hit” (take another card to increase your score), “stand” (stick with what you’ve got), or “double down” (double your bet and take another card, then automatically stand).
If your first two cards don’t put you close to 21, you’ve got to hit to have any chance of beating the dealer. if you’ve scored close to 21, such as a 19, stand to see if you’ve beaten the dealer’s hand.
Doubling down is risky — only do this when you’re fairly certain that taking one more card will make your hand a winner.
5. WHEEL OF DESTINY
Ready to test the whims of fate? Then spin the Wheel of Destiny! Located aboard the large pirate ship, the Wheel of Destiny is a fun yet pricey minigame that can have you winning big — or burning through lots of your hard-earned scratch.
Spin the wheel for a chance to win a huge cash payout or a signifcant amount of PP. The only other option is to win nothing, at which point you’re out a whole lot of moola.
6. SECURITY BREACH
Smash out a window and leap into Atlantica Casino’s south security room to score a handgun, a coffee creamer, and a powerful assault rifle, among other goodies. Not a bad little cache, especially since you can claim these goodies during any visit to the casino.
7. ON THE JUICE
Swing by Atlantica Casino’s central bar, Sipparellos, to score plenty of health- boosting booze. There’s a blender here as well; use it to mix up potent juice drinks with special properties. See the “Appendix” chapter for a complete list of juice blends.
8. POKER ROOM
When the action on the casino foor gets a little too heavy, duck into the north poker room and close the door behind you to catch a breather.
Here you’ll discover a magazine, games, which increases the durability of gaming weapons, such as croupier sticks. There’s a handgun in here as well.
9. HIDDEN HEIGHTS
Climb onto the standing poster display near the north poker room, and you can reach the high ledge above. Up here you fnd some of the Atlantica Casino’s best weapons, including a machete and battle-axe.
From the height of the ledge, leap to the decorative octopus arms that spiral high above the casino floor. Here you can score a training sword and box of nails, which combine to form the holy arms combo weapon.
You also find a magazine up here, drinking, which allows Chuck to overindulge in alcoholic beverages without fear of becoming ill.
