POINTS OF INTEREST
1. MAINTENANCE ROOM 6
Good weapons can be hard to find in Yucatan Casino, but not if you visit its one and only maintenance room.
Here you fnd the components to build an I.E.D. (propane tank + box of nails), along with a toy spitball gun that can be combined with any of the casino’s plentiful tiki torches to assemble a searing fire spitter.
Don’t overlook that fire axe, either; merge it with the nearby sledge hammer to create a lethal defiler.
2. THE BARON'S BOUNTY
Baron Von Brathaus is your primary source of nourishment at Yucatan Casino. Whenever Chuck’s in need of healing, flee to the Baron to fnd all sorts of food.
There’s a blender behind the Baron’s Bar, along with a never-ending supply of wine that allows Chuck to create countless Quick Steps. Or toss two of the eatery’s plentiful beers into the blender to mix up some Pain.
The Health 2 magazine on the counter near the blender doubles the efectiveness of all curatives—make certain to pick this up as Chuck’s health increases.
Visit the Baron’s kitchen to discover a useful machete, among other sharp pointing things. Place a pan on the stove back here to cook up some PP as well.
3. LUCKY MARBLE
Explore the center of the casino foor to discover a fun minigame of video roulette. Use the control buttons to place bets in a variety of ways.
You can keep it simple by betting on red or black, or get more involved by betting on specifc rows or sections of numbers.
Use the “Choose Category” button to cycle through the various types of bets, such as red/black and high/low.
Hit the “Choose Bet” button to cycle through various options within each betting category, shifting from black to red, high to low, etc. You can place up to five separate bets per game.
When you’re all finished gambling, circle around the side of the Lucky Marble and jump onto its wide stone ledges. Keep scaling these until you reach the top.
When you can climb no higher, jump to the high circular platform to land near a powerful LMG and a free dose of Zombrex. Score!
4. GET TO THE CHOPPER
Chuck can’t ride the awesome motorcycle that’s prominently displayed atop the slots to the west of the Lucky Marble until he purchases the chopper key.
This key is found at the Palisades Mall’s second-foor pawnshop, but it’ll run you $1,000,000. The thrill of tearing through the yucatan on this sweet ride is worth the cost—see the previous “Brain Food” chapter for clues on how to amass that kind of wealth.
5. MONEY TO BURN
Examining the unusual fire pit to the east of the Lucky Marble minigame causes Chuck to toss some of his hard-earned cash into the fames.
Don’t worry, this small sacrifice earns you PP in exchange! Keep heaving dollars into the fire pit to acquire more and more PP — a great way to level Chuck up when you’ve got lots of money.
6. FIREPLACE FRIVOLITY
The fireplace along the west wall is largely encased in glass, making it relatively zombie-free. Here you discover several useful weapons, including a machete, pitchfork, and lots of tiki torches that can set the undead ablaze.
The steak on the nearby rock is a potent curative, and the rocket fireworks found atop the fireplace can be merged with the lead pipe to the right of this area to form an explosive rocket launcher.
7. SHOAL SECRETS
On your way to the Shoal Nightclub, vault the small counter to the right to reach a tiny nook where a shotgun and rare vacuum cleaner have been stashed.
Merge the shotgun with the pitchfork near the casino’s west fireplace to form a boomstick, and combine the vacuum cleaner with the saw blades stashed to the left of the fireplace to assemble an exsanguinator.
The nightclub itself is filled with relatively unspectacular items, but there is plenty of health-restoring booze to be had. You can also find a handgun in the club’s northeast corner.
8. ROBBING THE VAULT
Yucatan’s east cashier/vault area remains locked until you advance to Case 3-2. After that point you’re able to enter this area, where an assault rife is always stashed, along with an LMG and other useful items.
9. CLIMBING HIGH
A series of narrow platforms hang above the Yucatan’s floor, and Chuck can climb atop these to locate several interesting items.
Leap from the tops of slot machines and table games to reach these upper platforms, where you’ll fnd construction hats (merge these with beers to form beer hats) and a Servbot mask (combine this with the lawn mower in the grass near Baron Von Brathaus to make a super slicer).
There are also gasoline canisters and a water gun up here, which merge to form a flamethrower. Oh, and did we mention there’s a broadsword up here as well?
10. COMBO CARD: FREEDOM BEAR
Head for the Yucatan’s restroom and examine the poster on the wall just outside of the men’s room to acquire the freedom bear combo card.
Grab that LMG of the top of the Lucky Marble minigame and merge it with a robot bear (find one atop the slot machines near the Shoal Nightclub’s escalators) to form this cuddly combo.
