Survivors

Not everyone has perished in Fortune City’s terrible outbreak. Dozens of living, breathing survivors are still out there, in desperate need of help.

These poor souls won’t last long unless Chuck manages to find and rescue them, fearlessly escorting them back to the Safe House to ensure their survival

Remember: Anyone not secured within the Safe House by the time the military arrives will be lost!

Once you’ve located a survivor, speak with them to hear their story. You may need to beat back some zombies as you listen to their tale.

Some survivors will be eager to join you; others will require you to complete a certain task for them to gain their trust.

You receive an instant Prestige Point (PP) bonus once a survivor agrees to join you and double this amount should you manage to escort them back to the Safe House in one piece.

GIVING ORDERS

Once a survivor has joined you, they’ll automatically follow Chuck wherever he leads. If a survivor isn’t following, simply press the Call button to holler out—the straggler will hurry to Chuck’s position.

If you’d rather a survivor didn’t follow you, hold the Aim button, then press the Call button to have them wait at a target location. This can be very helpful if you’ve stumbled into a hazardous scenario and don’t want your survivors getting too close to the carnage.

CARRYING THE WOUNDED

Some survivors will be injured and unable to move very quickly. Lend a helping hand by carrying the person or ofering them a shoulder.

Chuck can only perform a weak front kick while supporting a survivor, so it’s best to hurry the injured survivor back to the Safe House.

TRADING ITEMS

Some survivors Chuck finds will be carrying weapons, but they aren’t always ideal. Give these folks a fighting chance by handing them something more suitable, such as a frearm or powerful melee weapon.

On the other hand, perhaps you’ve met a survivor who’s wielding something tantalizing—hand them anything except a combo weapon (survivors won’t accept these) and they’ll trade their current weapon for yours.

KEEP IT TIGHT

Survivors are smart enough to avoid zombies as they follow you through the city, but most aren’t as fast as Chuck.

When you reach a transition point between two sections of the city, slow down and make sure your followers are close by—if you don’t, the survivors will become lost and will steadily take damage until you return for them.

You know a survivor will follow you to a new area when you see the tiny green door icon appear near their health bar.

DEFECTION

Battling zombies is sometimes necessary while escorting survivors, but be mindful of your mayhem. Repeatedly smacking a survivor around can cause them to defect and turn against you.

An onscreen warning message appears when a survivor defects, and defectors cannot be reasoned with. They’ll attack Chuck as if he were an enemy until you either kill them or flee.
