Dead Rising 2 eGuide Walkthrough Case 5-1: Stake Out

Case 5-2: The Getaway

That’s all the time you have for side missions—you’ve got to stop T.K.’s getaway. Hurry to Fortune City Hotel to encounter multiple armed mercenaries near the lobby elevators. Take your bat to ’em and wipe out each merc to claim 1,000 PP a pop.

The elevator arrives after you beat down the guards in the lobby, and one last hired gun steps out. Beat him senseless and then board the elevator, using the controls inside to reach the hotel’s roof.

MAN VERSUS MACHINE

SPOILER : Chuck arrives just in time to witness T.K. loading untold amounts of ill-gotten cash onto his getaway chopper.

The villain tries to flee, but Chuck manages to hitch a crane winch onto his helicopter at the last second, preventing his escape. Time for some payback, buddy!

To down T.K.’s copter, you must damage it by hurling objects at it. Gunfire and similar ranged attacks won’t work; only thrown objects can damage the whirlybird.

The moment the battle begins, quickly turn around and grab one of the spotlights on the helipad, then take aim and hurl it at T.K.’s ride.

The winch soon releases, cutting T.K. enough slack to fly around in circles, attempting to clothes line Chuck with the crane. You should have the Dodge Roll skill by this point—use it to roll under the crane each time it passes by.

A buzzer sounds after a short time (usually after T.K. makes two passes), and the winch controls become active again.

Hurry to the control station at the base of the crane and throw the winch to lock down the helicopter once more. Immediately grab another spotlight and hurl it at T.K.’s chopper to score more damage.

Or, if you’re wounded, use the time to consume food instead. Repeat this pattern until T.K.’s chopper comes crashing down.

T.K.’s escape has been foiled, and the cretin is knocked unconscious in the helicopter’s crash. Chuck wants answers and decides to bring his nemesis back to the Safe House for questioning.

Sullivan doesn’t like it, but he agrees to keep watch over the unconscious mongrel. It won’t be long before T.K. awakes....
