Disney Infinity 2014 Revised Edition eGuide Toy Box

Exploring the Toy Box

After completing the introduction to the game, you find yourself in the Toy Box Launch. While you have several options, such as getting right into one of the Play Sets, it is a good idea to take some time and explore the Toy Box. In the center of this area is the Disney Castle. Select a character and place it on your Disney Infinity Base to get started.

The Disney Infinity Hub

When you first enter the Toy Box Launch, your character is standing in the middle of the Disney Infinity Hub. The Hub has four buttons that you activate by standing on them. Use them to access different areas of the game. The red button takes you to the Travel menu, where you can select from Mastery Adventures, Adventures, Prebuilt Toy Box Worlds, and the Play Set that you have placed on the Disney Infinity Base. In addition, you can also save your current Toy Box or load one you have previously saved. The yellow button opens the Disney Infinity Vault, where you can unlock new Toys to use in the Toy Box. The green button opens the Build Menu, where you can select Toys you have already unlocked. Finally, the purple button takes you to the Hall of Heroes.

Taking a Walk

The best way to explore the Toy Box Launch is to take a walk. From the hub, start moving around the left side of the castle. There is a beam of light shining up into the sky in the distance. Walk towards the light.

You need to jump up onto a small ledge to get the Toy Box Blaster. This tool is now added to your inventory in the Tools/Pack menu. The Blaster comes in handy for fighting enemies. To select the Blaster, follow the directions on the screen to open the Tools/Pack menu. Here you can select items you have unlocked to use. You can even assign an item to one of two quick slots so you can quickly access it without having to open the menu. Once you have the Blaster selected, give it a try. By this time, there may be enemies spawning in the area.

Now that you have the Blaster, head over to the other side of the castle. There is another beam of light at the top of a slope. Climb the slope to find an Autopia Car. Hop in to give it a spin.

As soon as you climb into the Autopia Car, an entire track and landscape appears magically before you. Since you are already in the driver’s seat, go ahead and take the car for a spin around the track and get a feel for driving. Then you can continue driving off the course and around the Toy Box to get where you want to go faster than by walking.

Gathering Sparks and Spins

There are several capsules in the Toy Box Launch. Blue capsules are Helps. Touch them to reveal tips or other information on playing the game. Green capsules contain either Sparks or Spins. Sparks are the experience in the game. Collect them to level up your characters. You can also get Sparks by breaking barrels, crates, and other objects, by defeating enemies, and by earning medals in the Adventures.

Spins are the way you unlock new toys for the Toy Box. There are lots of Spins in green capsules in the Toy Box Launch, but this is the only place where they are in capsules. You can also earn Spins by leveling up your characters and completing Adventures. Look around the Toy Box to find as many Spins as you can. There are some inside and on top of the castle as well as hidden in groups of crates and barrels. For more information on using Spins to unlock Toys, see the Disney Infinity Vault section of the guide.

As you continue to explore the Toy Box Launch, you will run into some enemies. Use the Toy Box Blaster or just regular attacks to defeat them. Since you have the Autopia Car, you can also run into them at full speed. Continue destroying crates and fighting enemies as you explore the main land area of the Toy Box Launch. There are some more areas floating off in the air away from the main land, but don’t worry about those now. Later, when you get air vehicles or have completed the Building Mastery Adventure, you will be able to get to those areas and find more green capsules.

What to do Next

Now that you have experienced the basics of the Toy Box Launch, it is time to learn more about the Toy Box. It is also a good time to learn more about how to fight and drive, which you will need to know for not only the Toy Box, but also for the Play Sets. The best place to learn this is in the Mastery Adventures. So after collecting all the Sparks and Spins you can in the Toy Box Launch, head back to the Disney Infinity Hub to continue your training and learn how to Travel to different Toy Boxes and other aspects of the game.
