The only way to go after the treasure without the map is to speak to Tia Dalma who knows the route. Of course to visit her will require a ship and the money to pay for it. Go into the Toy Store and buy the ship as long as you have 600 coins to spare.
To actually get the ship in the water, you must pick it up from the delivery platform that can be found using the compass. Shoot open the locked gate and go pick up your pirate package.

This is your first time on a big ship and you need to pay attention to all the tutorials to really master controlling the vessel and using its many views. Once you get the hang of it, get to the task at hand. There is a bunch of debris blocking your ship from leaving the cove. Open fire with the cannons to clear a way out.

Set a course to visit Tia Dalma. She is the only person who can help you get your hands on the treasure before Davy Jones. She lives on an island called Pantano Bayou, which is right across from Buccaneer Bay, and the compass will guide you there. However, you can’t dock until the attacking pirates have been sunk.
