Now that you finally have the Kraken’s Bane, it is time to take on Davy Jones. Make sure the Kraken’s Bane is equipped on the ship as it will be essential to repel the monster while fighting Jones. This is a five-wave fight that will really test your sea savviness. Not only are there a lot of ships to deal with, but the Kraken can creep up at any time. The only thing in your favor is that the ship will recover in between waves.
Head out to sea in search of the Flying Dutchman. Try to maneuver away from its sides that have the most cannons, but make sure to keep firing as you circle around it.
The Kraken will attack throughout the sea battle, and this would normally send other pirates to the bottom of the ocean. However, with the Kraken’s Bane equipped, you can zap the Kraken and send it back into the sea.
The Flying Dutchman can be sunk, but unlike normal ships it will pop right back out of the water. In fact, it has to be sunk several times to proceed to the next phase of the battle.
After taking enough damage, Jones will call in some reinforcements. There are four ships to sink in this wave, but they are relatively small. Keep firing on the enemies’ ships while aiming for the front or back of their ships.
Mr. Gibbs will usually announce that the Kraken is coming by saying something like “Cap’n, it’s the Kraken!” or “Sea Monster!” and at the end of this wave, it will launch a quick surprise attack.
Wave three is a fight with the Flying Dutchman again. Blast it at a distance if at all possible, and always move away from its Broadside Cannons.
The fourth attack wave has six ships to deal with and the goal is to avoid getting sandwiched between two enemy ships. Try to keep foes on one side (within range) and blast away.
The final wave is your last battle with the Flying Dutchman! The ship has a lot of health, but if you can get it out of position and expose the front of it to the full might of your cannons, it will go down without too much of a problem.
Defeating Jones will unlock the Kraken Hammer, allowing you to now summon the Kraken and sic it on enemies!
