To continue to follow Hamm, you will need to grab the orange critter on the floating ledge to give you a boost to reach the next ledge.
Once again you will need the nearby pumpkin inhabitant. Place it in the divot under the ledge where Hamm is taunting you. There is a series of ledges that prevent you from simply carrying the orange creature. The best option is to grab a Purple Goo fruit and shrink the creature to make it small enough to carry and jump with.
Wait for the pumpkin creature to return to full size and jump on it to be able to leap to the ledge above.
Jump across a few rocky ridges to follow Hamm. To reach him on the next ledge you will need to do a bit of work to get the next orange stepstool. Go to the left past a purple stream and leap up a series of ledges to move hand over hand around the mountainside.
Pick up your familiar orange friend and carry it over two purple streams to the bottom of the ledge. Use the nearby Green Goo fruit to bump up its size and leap up the ledge to continue your journey to the base of the volcano.
The next section to conquer is a series of Purple Goo waterfalls. The method to get past these falling goo waterfalls is to leap up to the highest ledge and jump across the first waterfall. Jump up to the next hand hold and leap across the second waterfall.
Drop down to the ledge below and follow it around to a ladder of ledges going up to the base of the volcano. There is also a gap in the wall to the right that can be used to get to the top using a wall jump technique.
Planetary Plumber
Mission Giver: Hamm
Type: Platforming
Wii Rewards: 200 Crystals / 50 Sparks
The Goo is draining into the center of the planet. If you don’t plug the volcano’s flow, the pressure is going to cause the whole planet to split apart. To plug the drain you need to push several large columns of rock into the hole. Start your journey by jumping down to the ledge below and climbing up and around a large pillar of rock.
At the top of the large pillar is a blue section of rock that can be destroyed with a shoulder charge. Breaking this first pillar will loosen the huge rock above.
Leap across a narrow gap and wall jump up to the next breakable blue rock formation. Reduce this rock to rubble and leap towards the waterfall of Green Goo.
Using the lowest hand hold, leap across the falling ooze to the left.
Continue climbing the cliff’s face up and to the left until you get to even ground. There is a huge section of blue rock nearby, but you can’t break it in your normal form.
Take a quick dip in the Green Goo nearby to go large and return to smash that blue column of rock.
This should plug up the whirlpool below, but now you have to get out of there before the volcano collapses around you. Jump back down to where you started where Hamm is eagerly awaiting your return.
The planet is saved and with the volcano finally put out of commission for good the force field is no longer necessary. Your reward is a jetpack that makes getting around blast. Make sure to buy this in the Toy Store and equip it to one of your quick selections. Since his task is completed, Hamm will return to the City, but don’t follow him yet. There are a lot of side missions to explore in Goo Valley.

Wii Rewards: 50 Crystals / 3 Sparks
This Alien’s friend is in trouble, but luckily the guy that needs rescuing is really close. Simply look to the right to notice his pal stuck on a high rocky mantle. There is a short and a long route to perform the rescue. If you have the rocket booster, you can zip up to get the green guy and drop back down to return to his buddy.
However, this mission doesn’t require any additional toys to complete if you want to take a slightly longer route. Just up the hill from this mission giver is a series of ledges you can take to go up to a long curving edge. Grip onto the hand hold and follow it as it wraps around the stony column right next to the lost Alien.
Alien Liberation
Mission Giver: Alien
Type: Rescue
Rewards: 50 Crystals / 75 Sparks
Wii Rewards: 50 Crystals / 3 Sparks
Another lost Alien needs to be found and it is just beyond that towering wall riddled with holes where you get the mission. The quickest rescue method is to rocket boost up and over the wall to find the lost green guy and boost him back over to his pal.
Still, if you haven’t bought any of the new toys in Goo Valley, you can still save the little guy. Go around this large wall to the right and take a quick dip in the purple pool. Now that you are tiny, you can sneak through a hole in the wall to get to the lost Alien.
Of course finding the Alien isn’t the goal; it is rescuing the green guy. Pick up the Alien and go around the long way to jump across a series of floating platforms.
New Toy Unlocked: Star Command Boost Pack
New Challenges Available: Goo Valley Rocket Roundup (requires Rocket Booster) and Blaster Ribbon Booster (requires Rocket Booster)

Wii Rewards: 50 Crystals / 3 Sparks
The Alien’s lost friend requires your assistance. It is a clear path to find his friend on a large floating rocky crag.
Use the jetpack to fly over to the lost Alien, but make sure to turn off the jetpack to allow enough room to land from all the momentum you’ve built up. Pick up the lost guy and zoom back to his pal.
Weary Traveller
Mission Giver: Alien Tourist
Type: Transport
Rewards: 50 Crystals / 75 Sparks
Wii Rewards: 50 Crystals / 3 Sparks
Look for the tourist on a large boulder in the middle of Goo Valley. He wants to go out to one of the rocky platforms floating in space.
Follow the edge of the cliff to get as close as possible and use the rocket booster to leap up high to safely make it to the rocking landing. The jetpack can also be used to get to this spot but it is a lot harder to time the landing.
Side Missions: Giving the Aliens a Boost
Three Eyes, Two Lazy Legs
Mission Giver: Alien Tourist
Type: Transport
Rewards: 50 Crystals / 75 Sparks
Wii Rewards: 50 Crystals / 3 Sparks
Pick up the tourist and rocket boost over the nearby ridge.
The small ledge the Alien wants to get to will require using the rocket booster next to a cluster of purple trees.
Alien Rescue, Volcano Style!
Mission Giver: Alien
Type: Rescue
Rewards: 50 Crystals / 75 Sparks
Wii Rewards: 50 Crystals / 3 Sparks
This lost Alien is really far out in space on a tiny chuck of rock.
While it might be possible to jump off the edge of the cliff and fly over with the jetpack, trying to nail that landing is really rough. An easier path involves flying over to the rocky platform to the left of the target and rocket boosting up.
To get to the ledge above, move out towards the edge of the platform to rocket boost and hit the booster again to keep your height as you hover towards the ledge.
