Dragon Scales can be found from Armored Lizards (early on in the game) or Lesser Dragons (in the latter portion of the main story). Both enemies roam the Dakaav Footpath.
Hunks of Platinum are dropped from slain Kobold Knaves in the Trei’kuran Dunes or crafted with Alchemy (Lv. 4). It’s a bit easier to obtain these from the Kobolds instead of crafting because the recipe requires two Alchemist’s Waters (you can buy these from Ruddle if his store is open in Central Resulia).
