Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness eGuide Part III: Main Story Walkthrough Chapter 1

Mission: Make Way to Myiddok

Mission Walkthrough

You’re now free to leave Sthal’s east exit to the Passage on the Cliffs. You’ll need to trek through this passage leading to another area called the Coast of Minoz. On your journey to the capital, the team encounters many hostile creatures that you can practice your battle techniques on.

Resting and Saving

Before you leave, you can make a visit to Fidel’s House for a tutorial on saving your progress. After you save, you should rest up in bed to restore lost HP and MP. Sleeping here doesn’t cost anything, but when you’re away from home, you’ll usually be charged a few hundred Fol to stay at an inn. There’s also a Signet Card: Healing in a chest behind a room divider in the southeast corner of the house. Pick it up before you leave.

Miki Tags Along

As you head for the Passage to the Cliffs, you’ll encounter a roadblock in the form of Fidel’s childhood friend Miki. She insists on coming along, but Fidel is reluctant to let her put herself in danger. He could sure use some signeturgical support, though. After she convinces Fidel to let her help, you’re then introduced to several tutorials: one on selecting and controlling characters in battle, one on setting roles, one on pausing to the menu during battle, and one on casting signeturgy. Read these carefully to learn the game’s various battle mechanics. You can also consult this guide’s Game Mechanics chapter for more in-depth discussion on various systems in the game.

Passage on the Cliffs

Before you make your trek to the capital, visit the general goods store on the way out of Sthal if you want to bring some restorative supplies with you. It never hurts to have some extra healing supplies, so buy a few Blueberries and Blackberries, just in case.

Now, exit Sthal to the east by interacting with the gate. You’ll be introduced to yet even more tutorials involving skill points, learning roles, specialty skills, and harvesting. You can always refer to the Game Help glossary if you forget any of this information—which there is a ton of!

Once that’s all out of the way, get ready for your first adventure into the wilderness! Wait, there’s one more tutorial regarding encounters just up ahead. Check it out to learn how to perform preemptive attacks on your enemies and how to escape battles.

Okay, now it’s time to do some hiking. Head east, and slay the crab and plant enemies in your way. There’s a chest containing Blackberries x 2 close to the ledge to the west of the slope near the crab enemies you’ve just slain. Grab them, and continue on south. When you’ve collected 25 SP, you should invest it into the Harvesting specialty, unlocked through the Specialties menu. Unlocking this will allow you to see harvest nodes on your minimap. Run to any harvest points you see and interact with them to collect valuable resources you may need later on. Slightly east of the south path you just took, you’ll find a chest with 127 Fol in it.

Now, go south until you reach the water’s edge. In the south central area of the map, there’s a chest containing a Mint. Pick it up, and continue east into another inset. There’s another chest here containing Fresh Sage, an essential curative item that raises knocked-out allies.

Go north, taking the trail up to an alcove to the left. There’s a chest here with Fish Scales x 3 in it. You can fight the residents in here for extra EXP and SP, too. Turn north from here to enter the maw of a short tunnel. As you exit the tunnel, there’s a Blueberry Potion waiting for you in a chest northwest of the structure you’re in. Now, start traveling southbound. From here, go south through a path and to the west near a ledge to find a chest containing an Arcane Bracelet.

Save your game at the entrance here, and continue onwards to the destination marked with a star on your map, toward Myiddok.

The path splits in two: one directly east and one that goes south to an expansive shoreline. Go south if you want to explore the scenery and pick up some goodies while earning more EXP and SP from the coast’s various monsters. There are a couple of harvest nodes on your way down to the beach, too.

Discord Gerel

Keep traveling east and across a bridge. You’ll meet some new enemies called Land Turtles. These enemies love to guard attacks, so use your strong attack to penetrate their defenses. There’s a southbound path leading to a chest after a bending trail. Collect Iron x 3, then return north, then east, heading down to the shore. A chest near the water’s edge contains Blueberries x 3.

From here, you can head north into another alcove with some enemies and a chest holding a Wooden Stick. Take the stick, and exit to the east path into the Coast of Minoz.

When you get to the sandy shores, near the west part of the beach will be a chest with Fish Scales x 3 in it. Then, at an inset just north of the center of the beach, there’s a chest containing Iron x 2. As you continue east down the coast, Miki makes a remark about hearing something creepy…it’s probably nothing, right? Keep going, and you’ll run into the creepy thing she was talking about: Discord Gerel, a huge plant-type creature. Heal up and restore your HP and MP with Blueberries and Blackberries if you need to (press the Menu button and use your items within the Items menu), then attack the group of slimes.

This is one tough puddle of slime. Defeat its smaller friends before taking it on. Like the smaller slimes, you can guard and counter most of its attacks. Fidel’s Side Kick counter is particularly useful since it inflicts a stun effect on its victims. Partway into the battle, a mysterious knight joins the fray to help you defeat the giant pile of ooze.

The soldier introduces himself as Victor Oakville, a friend and apprentice of Fidel’s renowned father. The Resulian officer volunteers to escort the party to Central Resulia. He comes with the Defender role, so he makes for an excellent close-range combatant, especially considering his high base HP.

Now that you have a new knightly companion, you can make your way north to Myiddok. Alternately, if you want to explore the path not taken to pick up some chests, head back west along the north path toward the Passage on the Cliffs. There’s a chest containing Fresh Sage before you enter the north path from the east side. Pick it up, and then enter the path. On a ledge to the north, you discover a chest with some Fol in it. Keep going west to find an alcove to the north with some enemies and another chest containing Seasonings x 2. Go a bit farther, and there will be a ledge with some Aquaberries inside. Once you’ve obtained all of those items, you can turn around and go back east and into Myiddok.

Near the entrance to the city, there’s a locked chest to the east near the water’s edge. Don’t worry about this until you’ve obtained the Lock Picking specialty. Go north, and enter Myiddok for a well-deserved moment of respite.
