Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness eGuide Part III: Main Story Walkthrough Chapter 3

Mission: Finding Fiore

Lady Brunelli seems to be their best bet for figuring out what to do next. The party sets out for another voyage across Faykreed to Fiore’s last known location, Central Resulia.

Action Checklist

  1. Optional: Take the long route back to the capital
  2. Optional: Complete the Cathedral of Oblivion in the Coast of Minoz
  3. Optional: Stop by Myiddok to upgrade equipment
  4. Optional: Trigger Private Actions
  5. Find Lady Brunelli in Central Resulia

Mission Walkthrough

With the young girl awake from her coma and the Eitalon threat extinguished, your new task is to find Fiore in hopes that she can help you solve the mystery that is Relia. Fiore should still be at the capital, so make your way back to Central Resulia.

The Scenic Route

On your way back to the capital, you can either take the short route through the Dakaav Footpath, or the long route through the Passage on the Cliffs and the Coast of Minoz. Weaker enemies inhabit the west path through the Dakaav Footpath. However, the longer route through the Passage on the Cliffs has new tougher enemies, which means more potential EXP and SP gain for your party. Additionally, you can access an optional dungeon when you reach the Coast of Minoz. This walkthrough takes you to Myiddok via the long route.

Exit Sthal from the east gate to traverse through the Passage on the Cliffs again. As you travel eastward, fight any enemies you encounter and collect any chests you missed the first time through this area (refer to the provided map preceding this text for chest locations). Foes here hover around Lv. 20; they might pose a nice challenge because your party will probably be around Lv. 17 or 18 at this point, if you have been following this walkthrough.

This is a convenient time to harvest resources among the cliffs, especially if you’ve been putting SP into all three harvesting specialties.

When you reach the Coast of Minoz, there’s an optional dungeon that has a chance to spawn in this location each time you enter the area. When you enter the area, press the OPTIONS/START button, and take a look at the map. If you see a warp point icon in the southeast area, then you can access the Cathedral of Oblivion. If it doesn’t appear, simply exit back into the Passage on the Cliffs, and then re-enter the Coast of Minoz to check your map again. When it appears, fight your way to the dimensional rift to enter the dungeon.

At this point in the game, the cathedral instance dungeons have three rooms of enemies. Restore any lost HP and MP before you enter, then take on your first group of opponents.

Make sure that you’re prepared for a few tough battles, particularly in the second and third rounds. The second-round enemies are Lv. 24 to 25.

When you’ve dispatched them, get ready for a difficult boss battle in the third round.

Eyebalone

Eyebalone is a Corrupted-type flying monstrosity with eye beam attacks. It occasionally begins charging up an attack skill, telegraphing one of its powerful beams. You need to move out of the way as soon as you see it readying its laser, Dry Eye.

Its other eye beam attack is Eye of the Beholder, which can be difficult to avoid, but possible as long as you’re mobile. It only targets a single member, so heal up its victim as quickly as you can.

Eyebalone

Eyebalone

Eyebalone also performs a long-range spell called Radiant Lancer, usually targeted at Miki. If you open the battle menu when it’s starting the attack, you can pause combat and take control of Miki to dodge the lance that falls from a warp portal above.

Its physical attack can be extremely annoying, as well. The eye slams into the ground and performs a whirling area-of-effect attack, damaging and breaking the guard of your nearby fighters with a chance of inflicting paralysis (which you can remedy with Basil).

If you see the abomination make a beeline toward Miki, open the battle menu and assume control of her to run away. She can’t heal your party members if she’s knocked out!

Don’t be afraid to unleash your Reserve Rush abilities, especially at the end of a 175% Cancel Bonus combo. This technique does massive damage, especially with Fidel’s Ethereal Blast.

Once you’ve defeated the monster, you’re rewarded with an incredible amount of Fol. You can use it to go shopping later and upgrade equipment, or you can dabble in Item Creation if you’ve been investing in those specialty skills.

Just north of the boss is a chest that contains a Blue Talisman. Pick it up, and then exit the cathedral through the final warp point.

Now, finish your trek to Myiddok to rest at the inn and save your progress. This is a good time to spend your money, so head over to The Steel Serpent to buy new equipment for your party. (Alternately, wait until you get to Central Resulia.)

Terrible Dining in Myiddok

That should be it for your rest stop. Now, exit from the west end of Myiddok and proceed into Central Resulia. Fight your way to the capital, and harvest any resources you come by. You can also run around to pick up any missed chests or to farm up EXP and SP from the new monsters here.

When you’re ready, enter southeast Central Resulia from the plains. Head to the castle steps to view a short cutscene between Victor and a Resulian major. It seems that Lady Brunelli isn’t here. Your new primary objective is to head to an outpost west of Resulia, toward the Trei’kuran border.
