Climb the linear trail up the mountain until you reach a small path leading to an inlet to the south. You can find a chest containing Blueberry Potion x 2 and Blackberry Potion x 2 in the inlet, along with a harvest point nearby. Keep hiking up the mountain, and the party will conclude that the men have stopped chasing them.
Cross the bridge and continue climbing the steep mountain. When you reach the center of the area, there’s a chest containing a copy of Purification Signets, Vol. 1 inside. Grab it, and then just east of the chest, find a restoration point, along with a save point. Fill up your HP and MP and save your progress.
From the save and restoration points, head north until you reach a chest with a Ruby in it. From there, if you go west and into an alcove to the south, there’s a harvest point and a chest with Fire Charm x 2 waiting for you. Now, keep going north to trigger a cutscene—three of the mysterious men teleport in to ambush the group yet again! When the battle starts, you won’t be able to damage them, just like in your first encounter with these spacemen.
However, a pair of strangers (albeit, familiar ones) arrives to save the day. The woman seems to have some sort of device that disables the enemies’ force fields. The fight is now fair since you’re able to whittle down their HP. These guys are still quite powerful, though, due to their advanced weaponry and high amount of health. Thankfully, your new friends join the fight by your side.
Focus on the mysterious men one by one, making sure they’re not ganging up on Miki. If you see them going after her, peel them off of her using Fidel’s Double Slash attack skill. When you’re victorious, a cutscene triggers. Your two saviors introduce themselves as Emmerson and Anne, and they ask to come along with the group to Santeroule. They seem to be hiding something from the party… nevertheless, they’re lifesavers.
Once you’ve set up Emmerson and Anne’s roles, keep following the path east, where you’ll get to witness a beautiful view of Santeroule.
Continue hiking down the mountain until you reach a path that bends west. Before you take the west trail, open the chest that’s against the north wall to pick up a bottle of Alchemist’s Water. Continue down that path to collect some resources from a harvest point and an excavation node if you have these specialties unlocked.
You can now take the north path, leading you downhill into Santeroule.
