Meet Ceisus, Signeturgical Prodigy

Follow Fiore into the Royal Institute of Signetary Studies. She’ll give you a tour of the extraordinary establishment. Meanwhile, Emmerson and Anne whisper to each other, seemingly amazed by the advanced technology they’re bearing witness to.

As you follow Fiore, you’ll enter a room with shelves placed in a circular pattern. There’s a chest containing Magic Seeds lying at the west end. Grab the seeds, and continue following Fiore east into a hallway. In the room at the end of the hall, you’re introduced to Ceisus, Santeroule’s most talented scholar.

Seems like even the child prodigy is bewildered by Relia’s form of signeturgy. Nevertheless, he suggests that the party should check the archaic documents held within the Ancient Institute that may hold answers to Relia’s mysterious signets. Before you leave the Royal Institute of Signetary Studies, when leaving Ceisus’s office, immediately turn right to go north, find an Anti-silence Amulet.

Head back out to Santeroule. You can now rest at the inn and save your progress. Additionally, Santeroule is one of three quest hubs with a bulletin board. You can pick up a few side quests and view any available Private Actions here if you want to get some optional objectives out of the way. If you’ve been diligent in slaying enemies on your way up the mountain, you might have excess cash to spend on upgrading your equipment and buying items; feel free to go shopping.

Answers in the Ancient Institute

Once you’re all set to go, exit Santeroule from the north gate, to North of the Eastern Eihieds.

Axe Beak

Harpyia

Stone Golem

Carnivorous Plant

Demon Imp

Thunderstruck Osthark

Your destination from here is straightforward. Take the linear path north until the road takes a left turn. Before the turn, there’s a chest with a copy of the Fae Signets, Vol. 1 book in it. This is one of Miki’s best healing spells, so make sure to have her read it right away (through the Learn Battle Skills menu).

Follow the trail west and then north, while battling any enemies in your way. There are a couple of harvest points in the area, too. When you reach the northwest portion of the map, you find a chest containing a disk copy of CQC Program Alpha.

If you accepted the Open Season on Ostharks quest (“Open Season” quests are just like Central Resulia’s “Subjugation Directives” quests), you’ll find Thunderstruck Ostharks on your way to the Ancient Institute. Defeat any you see to complete the quest.

Continue eastward until you see a locked chest. You won’t be able to open it yet, but make sure to come back for it later once you’ve gained the Lock Picking specialty. Now, go north and save your game at the save point, and then enter the Ancient Institute. With any luck, you’ll finally get some answers.

Inside the institute, continue following Fiore up until the second automatic door. You can find a couple of chests in the room to the left, by a save point. Grab the piece of Parchment and a Wind Armlet, then catch up with Fiore to the north.

Entering the northernmost room triggers a cutscene with Relia. The area seems to have a negative effect on her, but it also sparks a memory recollection. She mentions sand and a laboratory—maybe a clue about her origins. Emmerson deduces that Relia may be talking about dunes in Trei’kur. Since the government has sanctioned off Trei’kur, the party must request help from Victor in Central Resulia.

After the cutscene, open the chest in the room. Its contents consist of The Founder’s Signets, Vol. 1 book. Turn around and head back to Santeroule the way you came.
