Mission Walkthrough
Having finished his training with Ted, Fidel begins his first mission: investigating the rumors of an invasion plot on the village of Sthal. Your objective is to find out what’s shaking up the townspeople and to defend Sthal from the looming threat.
Spar with Ted
Before you survey the area, opt into taking the game’s battle tutorial. This consists of several instructional pages teaching you how attacking and guarding work. Practice these concepts on Ted, then proceed with your investigation. Remember, you can always review these lessons in the game’s Glossary menu (under Resources).
Meet with Miki and Warn the Mayor
While touring the town, Ted will notice Miki off in the distance to the west. Go see what she’s up to! Both the minimap and the main map (viewed with the OPTIONS or START button) will have a red star indicating a waypoint for progressing the main storyline. When you get close enough to her, a cutscene triggers, with Miki pointing out some scouts in the horizon. Those guys look like they’re up to no good. After you’ve reunited Fidel with his longtime friend, go warn the mayor of the impending invasion. You can find the Mayor’s Manse in the northernmost section of Sthal. There’s a chest containing a Signet Card: Raise Dead inside the mayor’s house, just to the right of the entrance.

It’s nightfall. Meet up with Ted in the middle of the village—a flaming arrow flies by, signaling an attack as Eitalon troops storm into the village. Prepare for your first real fight! Target incoming Eitalon soldiers with L1 or R1, and press the Attack buttons to fend off these interlopers!
Apply what you’ve learned through the tutorial in the fight against these intruders. Remember to time your attacks accordingly for a multiplicative boost in damage (indicated by the Cancel Bonus percentage pop-up). Also, make sure to guard and counter your enemies’ weaker attacks to minimize damage taken. Halfway through the battle, Miki joins and helps you with her signeturgical healing prowess. After you defeat the first set of Eitalons, head south to suppress the rest of the terrorists. Once the Eitalons are forced out and the villains vanquished, a cutscene between Fidel and the mayor plays.
