Mission: Return to Sthal

Mission Walkthrough

You’ll need to trek back south to Sthal through the Dakaav Footpath. Here, you must survive an Eitalon attack, face off against some enigmatic enemies, and save an innocent girl from harm.

Hiking the Dakaav Footpath

Armored Lizard

Adephaga

Giant Bat

You start at the north end of the Dakaav Footpath, with your destination at the south end. Sthal is not too far away, judging by the map. There’s a divergence near your starting point, along with a chest containing a copy of Swordsman’s Manual I. You can take either path from here because they eventually converge, or you can explore both

paths to pick up chests and harvest resources. The east trail across a bridge takes you to an island with a chest containing an Earth Gem.

Fight any enemies along the way, and remember to restore your HP and MP between battles if your party members are low. There’s only the two of you, and the foes here are plentiful and more difficult than the ones in the plains.

After the path converges and you arrive at the middle of the Dakaav Footpath, Miki mentions hearing something strange. She then spots several Eitalon soldiers in the distance. Before you two can escape, you are ambushed! You’ll have to fight off a seemingly endless amount of bandits. Slash away at the ambushers, and keep Miki safe. She’s your primary source of healing, after all.

Brigands, Bandits, and… Spacemen?

Eitalon Swindler

Eitalon Swordsman

Eitalon Archer

Once you’ve finished them off, a crash is heard nearby. Fidel and Miki go to investigate and find an enigmatic young girl emerge from the wreckage of what looks to be a spacecraft with cloaking technology. Two mysterious men wielding light-emitting weapons also emerge and demand that the Sthalians return the young girl to them.

It’s time to protect the apparently defenseless girl from these soldiers.

These mysterious spacemen have peculiar but powerful phaser weapons. Avoid their gunfire as best as possible by sidestepping with the Guard button plus LEFT or RIGHT on the analog stick. When you’ve depleted their health low enough, they’ll become immune to your attacks.

However, the girl begins to cast some sort of signeturgical spell, eventually unleashing a torrent of power that freezes the hostiles in place. After the cutscene, you’ll need to carry the girl with you down to Sthal.

Upon entering Sthal, Fidel and Miki realize they’re too late to help defend their people. The inevitable Eitalon invasion dealt significant damage to the village, leaving much of it in ruins. To make matters worse, the party still has a young girl to care for. Make your way to Fidel’s House to let the unconscious girl rest awhile.
