Unit Details
The Ark’s Retriever Sentinel is among the most powerful Forerunner drones. Although it was created to mine vital resources, the massive Retriever is well-equipped to deal with anyone who threatens the Ark.
Basic Tactics
Equipped with a wide array of lasers and a powerful Sterilization Beam, the Retriever Sentinel is most effective against large groups of enemies. It’s heavily armored but very slow. Expect to make frequent repairs during prolonged firefights.
The Sterilization Beam ability can cause heavy damage over a wide area. However, it takes a significant amount of time to charge, giving its intended targets plenty of opportunity to relocate. It also has a significant cooldown, making each use a bit of a gamble. This area-of-effect ability is best used during chaotic firefights, against large groups of slow-moving targets. During base assaults, use it to damage multiple buildings as the rest of your forces focus fire on key structures.
