Halo Wars 2 eGuide Structures Minibases

About Minibases

Minibases are smaller command structures that offer limited functionality. Minibases cannot be upgraded, and they don’t offer any of the research found in a full-sized base. However, minibases can train the same units found in larger bases, and they feature all the same special commands.

There are two types of minibases: One-Slot Minibases (which offer a single slot for an additional structure) and Two-Slot Minibases (which offer two slots). The type of minibase you can build is indicated by the outline of the minibase slot in question.

When deciding whether to invest in a minibase, consider the following points:

  • Minibases can be a big help in boosting production. When construction is complete, use the available slot(s) to harvest additional resources or supplement unit creation.
  • Minibases offer no Turret sites. If a minibase is performing a vital task, make sure you’re prepared to actively defend it.
  • Sites for One-Slot Minibases are far more common than those for Two-Slot Minibases. In a given Multiplayer map, it can be very helpful to know the type (and number) of minibase slots available.
  • Depending on the selected options, minibases can count as HQs in a game of Deathmatch.
