There are 20 broken computers in the Abstergo office. You have to fix some of them to help the plot proceed, but many of the computers are optional. Each one has a minigame where you need to light up sections of a sphere to get the system working. Use the outer circles to move lines of power around so every section gets a single point of power, and no more. This is incredibly easy when there aren’t any complicated mechanics; you only need to get each circle into position and watch the sphere turn blue. Once it’s all lit, you’re done.
However, there are more involved mechanics on quite a few of the systems. Some of the beams have to pass through gates that refract their direction or split the beam in two. When that happens, you must account for these changes, ensure that no section is touched twice, and that all of them have a source of power.
This gets much easier once you’re in front of the game and can toy around. It’s rather fun.
To find the computers that need fixing, use your minimap or main map. Many of the systems are behind security doors and won’t be reachable until later in the game when you get access to those rooms.
Be careful about working on these systems before you get to the end of the game. If you want to get everything done, make sure that all 20 computers are fixed before you complete your last scene in the Abstergo offices. Otherwise, you lose access to them.
Many of the puzzles are solved within a minute just by getting each circle to light and switching one of them around at a time to see what isn’t working. You don’t even need a master plan or a deep understanding of the sphere. You move each circle slowly and see what lights up.
For the toughest ones, you may have to stop and figure out what’s going on. For instance, one of them has four circles that have to light six sphere sections. But there are two splitters, and that gives you six beams to play with. Okay, that sounds easier, but it’s tough to get the beams to hit different areas. Set the split beams up before anything else to see how you can get them to nail four of the sections, and then manipulate the circles to light the final two pieces.
