Homestead Missions reveal a pastoral side to Connor’s character as he gradually transforms the isolated Davenport Homestead into a thriving community. Though many of these Memories are short, they are vital steps that must be completed to access the full range of economic opportunities available via the Accounting Book interface, and unlock a selection of extremely useful upgrades and weapons. They also make a large contribution to your actual (and potential) total Synchronization rating.
You can find a diagram that illustrates the unlock progression of all Homestead Missions in the Reference & Analysis section under Recruiting Workers.

Encyclopedia of the Common Man
To begin this challenge, talk to Achilles inside the Manor. Your goal here is to create a record of individuals that will eventually come to live and work on the Homestead by “scanning” them in specific circumstances. This quest can therefore only be completed once you have recruited all possible Artisans and Harvesters.
The activities that will enable you to complete an entry to the Encyclopedia are related in the table below. You can check your in-game progress by studying the appropriate entry in the Logbook section of the Main Map menu.
- To add an appropriate target to the Encyclopedia, press
/
to enter Precision Mode aiming, then move the cursor over the target. - There is an easy way to ascertain if a current activity can be scanned: just view the subject in Eagle Vision. If they appear with a gold highlight, this represents that a suitable activity is currently in progress. If they are blue they are not currently engaged in an appropriate pursuit.
- You will need to visit the homesteaders often to see them performing relevant activities. Waiting or following them indefinitely will usually not work. The best way to pick up all possible entries is to visit all available subjects before and after you complete Homestead Missions. This will enable you to complete the Encyclopedia gradually, which is much easier than attempting to finish all entries late in a 100% playthrough.

The Manor
Not merely a set for narrative events in the main storyline and Homestead Missions, the Manor where Connor and Achilles both live has a number of interesting features.
- The basement – accessed via a secret door opened by operating the nearby candelabra – is the storage room for all outfits and weapons acquired by Connor during his travels. The table in front of the “Templar Wall” is gradually filled with a number of keepsakes collected when Connor meets each target.
- The main floor features an Accounting Book, where Connor can purchase resources from his friends on the Homestead, craft items once he has enlisted the services of artisans, and send convoys to deliver wares to merchants in Boston, New York and the Frontier, for healthy profits. You can also find a Fanorona board in Achiles’ room, where the young Assassin can play games against his mentor.
- The upstairs floor is filled with trophies and mementos as Connor overcomes challenges in the main storyline and completes objectives set in side quests. You can interact with many of these to learn of their origin whenever a prompt appears.

Once this Memory begins, run to the lumberer’s house and chase the thief; there is an obvious free run course to, and over, the river that will enable Connor to keep up with him. Kill or incapacitate the target; note that he will attack you if you stop to listen to his calls for mercy. |

Talk to Lance outside his house. Fast Travel to Boston and meet him close to the North Port tunnel entrance. Follow him, then go talk to his apprentice, who is marked with a waypoint. When you tail him, use the various hay carts and Blending opportunities to remain undetected. Keep your distance, though, as Lance isn’t always as discreet as you are. Finally, loot the Chest to recover Lance’s tools. |

|
Thousand-Pound Idea |
3 |
Talk to Lance outside his house. Fast Travel to New York. Lance’s contact is found near the Harbormaster in the southeast. Retrieve all three parts of Lance’s plans by pickpocketing or looting the thugs. The former option may be preferable, as there are many guards in the area. The third thug is found on a boat that is part of a Restricted Area. Take him down while the guards are on the other end of the ship ( 05), loot him and jump in the water to escape. Return the plan to Lance, who will be waiting for you on his house’s rooftop. |

Talk to Warren outside his farm. Walk with him towards the marker to the southeast and examine the clues in the green search zone, using Eagle Vision to highlight them if required. The pigs you herd should be kept between Connor and the pen at all times. |

This is the mission that enables you to recruit Myriam. She can be found a short walk to the southwest from the Manor. Carry her back to the house, then take care of the poachers. Now retrace your steps to the south. You will find two poachers on a circular patrol. Dispatch them in any way you see fit. Finally, run to the waypoint to the east to trigger a cutscene, then return to Achilles to complete the mission. |

Fool Me Once… |

You need to speak to Norris in the north of the Homestead to start this mission. Run to Myriam, then hunt the wolves marked by red waypoints. You can either start shooting them from afar with a ranged weapon, or follow the two onscreen button prompts to kill them when they attack. Skin the animals, then climb to the wooden platform highlighted with a green marker. Connor must now hurry to save Myriam. Free run through the trees to make sure that you reach her before her health is depleted ( 06). Once there, go after the poacher. Chasing him at branch level will enable you to perform a nice air assassination, though a standard chase will work just as well. |

Benjamin Franklin’s Inventions are items that you can craft via the Accounting Book interface from recipes obtained by collecting Almanac pages in Boston and New York.
