Hyrule’s largest body of water is Lake Hylia, which dominates the kingdom’s southeast corner. Link can’t accomplish a whole lot around here until he obtains Zora’s Flippers—then he’s able to swim around and give Lake Hylia a thorough search. Points of interest include the House of Gales dungeon, which stands in the middle of the lake, and Mother Maiamai’s cave, which lies just north of the lake and must be bombed open. (For every 10 lost babies that Link returns to Mother Maiamai, she’ll offer to upgrade one of the items that Link has purchased from Ravio.) The Lakeside Item Shop is also located on Lake Hylia’s west bank, and offers the same goods as the Item Shop in Kakariko Village. The Racing Bro runs the Hyrule Hotfoot minigame over on the lake’s east bank.
