Rise of the Tomb Raider Guide › Weapons and Outfits

Rifles

On the whole, rifles are long-range weapons with fairly high damage and accuracy. You get multiple attachments for them, including a Rifle Suppressor, a Laser Sight, and a Grenade Attachment. Together, these make your Rifles incredibly versatile and powerful.

Tier III

-Chromoly Barrel (Improves Damage)

-Taped Double Magazines (Faster Reloading)

-Muzzle Brake (Increases Recoil Stability)

-High Capacity Magazine (Higher Ammo Capacity)

Tier IV -Improved Gas Port (Raises Firing Rate)

A balanced, dependable rifle for any scenario.

You get the Assault Rifle fairly early in your career, but this gun doesn’t entirely go out of style at any point. The other Rifles feature superior stats for specific styles of play, but the Assault Rifle is never a bad choice. Keep this equipped when you want to be able to fight at almost any range and deal decent damage. With this gun, you have a jack of all trades.

SMG

Stats Base
Damage 20
Accuracy 30
Reload Speed 50
Clip Capacity 30
Rate of Fire 50
Upgrades

Tier I

-Match Grade Barrel (Improves Damage)

-Modified Firing Pin (Raises Firing Rate)

-Padded Stock (Increases Recoil Stability)

-Barrel Shroud (Faster Reloading)

-Extended Magazine (Higher Ammo Capacity)

Tier II

-Polished Magazine (Faster Reloading)

-Custom Grip (Increases Recoil Stability)

Tier III

-Chromoly Barrel (Improves Damage)

-Hair Trigger (Raises Firing Rate)

-Muzzle Brake (Increases Recoil Stability)

Tier IV

-Custom Recoil Assembly (Raises Firing Rate)

-Folding Stock (Increases Recoil Stability)

Snub-nosed gun focused on rapid firing.

The SMG loses to the other Rifles in terms of ammo consumption and long-ranged attacks. However, it spits out fast damage at short range. You lock down opponents and eliminate them safely, even if your aim is only decent.

Against non-armored opponents, the SMG is quite deadly. Deathless and Enforcers laugh it off. Most other targets live in constant fear of it

Bolt Action Rifle

Stats Base
Damage 60
Recoil Stability 50
Reload Speed 10
Ammo Capacity 10
Rate of Fire 10
Upgrades

Tier I

-Match Grade Barrel (Improves Damage)

-Padded Stock (Increases Recoil Stability)

Tier II

-Barrel Extension (Improves Damage)

-Polished Bolt (Faster Reloading)

-Custom Grip (Increases Recoil Stability)

Tier III

-Chromoly Barrel (Improves Damage)

-Lubricated Bolt (Faster Reloading)

Tier IV

-Custom Bolt Handle (Faster Reloading)

-Custom Stock (Increases Recoil Stability)

Single shot Rifle that deals heavy damage.

The Bolt Action Rifle is the ideal sniping weapon. It improves on the Bow’s damage, and offers better accuracy along the way. Use this for extremely long-range battles. Kill unaware targets, or those who have taken cover. The Bolt Action Rifle is even dangerous against well-armored foes.

This Rifle is weakest when you’re facing melee attackers, highly mobile targets, or large groups. Make sure to upgrade your Shotgun often if you like the Bolt Action Rifle, because Shotguns are your best defense against enemies that exploit this Rifles’ weaknesses.

Military Rifle

Stats Base
Damage 25
Recoil Stability 50
Reload Speed 30
Ammo Capacity 40
Rate of Fire 20
Upgrades

Tier I

-Match Grade Barrel (Improves Damage)

-Modified Firing Pin (Raises Firing Rate)

-Padded Stock (Increases Recoil Stability)

-Barrel Shroud (Faster Reloading)

-Extended Magazine (Higher Ammo Capacity)

Tier II

-Barrel Extension (Improves Damage)

-Polished Receiver (Raises Firing Rate)

-Custom Magazine (Faster Reloading)

-Custom Grip (Increases Recoil Compensation)

Tier III -Chromoly Barrel (Improves Damage)

-Quick Release Magazine (Faster Reloading)

-Muzzle Brake (Increases Recoil Stability)

-Drum Magazine (Higher Ammo Capacity)

Tier IV -Custom Receiver (Raises Firing Rate)

A military-grade Rifle that is focused on smooth firing.

This Rifle is closest to the Assault Rifle; it has well-balanced stats so that you can take it into almost any type of engagement. The primary strength of the weapon is that it has extremely high Accuracy. You put shots on your target without any difficulty, so very little damage is wasted. You won’t burst quite as well as you could with the SMG at close range, but over time you can take down more targets, safely, compared to the other choices.

In short, this gun loses at short range to SMGs and Shotguns. It is dominant at medium range, and is still amazing at long range. It even stands up to the Bolt Action Rifle there, due to its improved ammo capacity and firing rate.
