A sturdy metal ice climbing axe. You begin the game with this weapon, and it is always available to you.

Lara can’t go anywhere without her Axe. This is a weapon for melee combat and a tool for grabbing hold of ice and rock alike. You should upgrade this as soon as possible without any fear of waste, because you end up using your Axe throughout the entire game. It’s especially powerful against heavily armored targets, like Enforcers and Deathless. When upgraded, your Axe rips through their armor and either kills them or leaves them vulnerable to ranged attacks against their exposed flesh.
