Area and Encounter Details

The first two areas in EX Dungeon C have many enemies that are weak to water and dark elements (Waterga is especially recommended for this climb). You can navigate the first area by using the glowing lights (if you remember, they’re identical to the ones in Pyreglow Forest). Follow the lights to get to the south end of the map.

Area 2 is a small area with a Flutter point near the south end. Ferry across to the treasure chest containing an Agility++ mirajewel. The exit into Area 3 is to the southwest.

The third area of this dungeon is likely the most confusing and difficult to navigate. The layout is that of Castle Exnine—Ordeal 6, except you start at the opposite end (thus, the pipe flow is the opposite of where you’re supposed to go). If you get lost here, find one of the large pipe walkways and travel the opposite direction of the flow of the pipe. This area also contains several treasure chests along the way. Collecting them all nets you: a dream powder, six potions, three hi-potions, two x-potions, a mega-potion, five ethers, four hi-ethers, two turbo ethers, a mega ether, an elixir, and a megalixir. You’re going to need these.

Refer to the provided map to find your bearings. The exit is at the other end, to the west.

In Area 4, there’s a chest containing three Fire spellstones, located behind a Chill point near the starting point of the area. There’s another treasure chest with a phoenix pinion inside at the west end of the map. The north walkway, coming from the southern central platform, leads to a Save Crystal with the dungeon’s boss directly next to it. Save your progress, and prepare for the gleefrit stack boss encounter.

Defeating the gleefrit stack rewards you with Girl’s Diary, Entry 13, a weeglee memento, a gleed memento, and a gleefrit memento.

Gleefrit Stack Tips

The gleefrit stack has a Fire Resistance rating of 200 and an Ice Resistance rating of -200, so naturally, having access to Blizzaga and other ice-based spells is recommended. You should also configure your stacks so that they absorb fire, or at least are resistant to it.

The medium and small Mirages (gleed and weeglee) are susceptible to Berserk. If you topple the stack and inflict Berserk on the weeglee or gleed, the ailment spreads to the rest of the stack when gleefrit restacks the smaller Mirages. This disables their special fire abilities, but it does increase their physical damage. Inflicting Berserk is not advisable if your stacks are set up to absorb fire damage, as you want to absorb fire spells and reduce physical attack damage.

If you’ve imprismed a master moogle from the “The Cranberry Knights” Coliseum battle, you can add it to one of your stacks for +125 Fire Resistance rating. You can use a king bomb Mirage in your other stack, making this encounter almost trivial.
