Now that you have the support of the Pleiad by completing their associated Intervention Quests, speak to Serafie about Tama to start a new and required Miniventure called “Vestiges of Life” (added automatically to your Miniventures log). Next, enter the Girl’s Tearoom for another cutscene where Serafie comes up with an idea that may be able to return Tama to the twins. Evidently, if the twins can find suitable souls, they can trade them in for Tama’s lives. The Girl believes it will work and agrees to help.
Serafie checks her Rumor Radar and finds news of a giant black fox that’s killed a woman in the Saronian ice fields, so the Mirage Keepers’ next destination is Sherlotta’s Solace. Use the Gate to warp to the Ice Region (or use the World Map menu), then enter Sherlotta’s Solace and talk to Sherlotta. Refia explains that the woman killed was her aunt and volunteers her help in finding the fox. Upon leaving Sherlotta’s Solace, Refia tells the twins of another path in Icicle Ridge. Enter Icicle Ridge to the north, then meet up with Refia past the Gate. There’s a spot along the northern ledge that you can interact with to drop down to.
Take this path to enter Icicle Ridge—Slip ? ? ?, where another cutscene is played.
Your goal here is simple: travel all the way east, defeating any enemies that you encounter. This is a good area for leveling up, as each group of enemies here rewards around 100,000 EXP. When you reach the easternmost portion of the map, a short cutscene plays, and an encounter with the kyubi begins. The battle with the kyubi is relatively straightforward. It has access to Blaze and Blossom Storm, but nothing particularly devastating. Defeat it, and then watch the ensuing cutscene involving the Bahamutian soldier and the black fox. You’re then rewarded with the required kyubi’s souls.
Return to the Girl’s Tearoom to have the Girl initiate the ritual, completing the quest and bringing back Tama (and presumably altering the current timeline). Remember to claim the Tamamohimé memento and kyubi memento from the Miniventures quest log.
