After a cryptic flashback, the adventure of Reynn and Lann begins. For reasons unknown, these twins are blessed with extraordinary powers but have lost their memories. Thankfully, they’re met and aided by a wise stranger and an adorable fox.

Learn the Basics
Following the captivating opening cutscene, you take control of a waking Lann, one of the two main protagonists. Don’t mind the cute foxlike creature sitting atop of his head for now. Lann needs to get to work, so navigate your way to the coffee shop located in North Promenade. Note your mini-map in the top right of the user interface, as well as the full map that you can display by pressing the clickable touch pad button on the PS4 (or the SELECT button on PS Vita). A star indicates the main story’s destination marker.
From Plaza 99, walk to the entrance of North Promenade and press the 
button to enter. Continue onward and enter the coffee shop at the end of the boulevard. At Nine Bean Coffee, a cutscene triggers, introducing you to several key characters. After some exposition from Enna Kros, Tama explains several of the game’s core mechanics, including the battle system and the use of Mirages. Text tutorials regarding battle menus, action points (AP), and battle modes are presented throughout this tutorial battle, all of which you can refer to again later through the convenient Tip Jar menu. After the combat tutorial, Enna Kros presents our heroes to the world of Grymoire. By traveling to this realm, Lann and Reynn can collect Mirages in order to recover their lost memories in hopes of unraveling the mysteries that are their lives.
