Your partner is Officer Ralph Dunn, and your unit’s call sign is 14 Adam.
In 1947, the L.A.P.D. designates each two-man unit of uniformed officers with the letter A combined with the team’s beat number—for Phelps and Dunn, the beat is 14. Using the L.A.P.D. phonetic alphabet, their patrol car is thus referred to as “14 Adam”.
