L.A. Noire eGuide Street Crimes Traffic

8: Theater Robbery

There’s a 211 (holdup alarm) in progress at 933 South Broadway at the United Artists Theater.

Objectives

  • Pursue the suspect.
  • Apprehend the suspect.

Fail Conditions

  • Phelps or Bekowsky dies.
  • Criminal escapes.

Time Available: 19:15—21:00

Drive to the crime scene.

When you arrive at the United Artists Theater , the armed gunman is seen threatening the employee in the ticket booth, vowing to hunt her down if she calls the cops. But it’s too late; she tripped the silent alarm. The robber is on the verge of shooting her before running to his vehicle. You can spot his blue car driving away from the scene.

Pursue the suspect.

Stay as close as possible to the suspect. If you lose sight of him, double-check his position on the mini-map (indicated by a red car icon). This icon begins to flash when the suspect gains too great a lead. You fail the mission if the icon flashes and fades from the map.

He takes you through some very sharp turns. The majority of the chase is through some very narrow alleyways with plenty of debris and objects to dodge, such as dumpsters, fences, and parking lot booths. Actually being able to catch up to the suspect enough to spin him out or to allow your partner to shoot out his tires is pretty much impossible.

Apprehend the suspect.

If you follow him long enough, he eventually comes to a stop in a small parking lot on the corner of 6th and Broadway. Stop here and chase him up the pipe on the building at the back of the parking lot (behind the trash truck). He’s armed, so a warning shot is not an option.

The suspect shoots at you as he crosses the metal catwalk over the large skylight window. Your best opportunity to gun him down is before he leaves the first rooftop and bolts around the next corner. Draw your weapon for a quick auto aim to get the reticle on him, then pull the trigger a few times to make sure he goes down. If you miss here, he stops to engage in a gunfight on the next rooftop after the billboard.
