Splatoon eGuide Zone 4

Stage 17: Octosniper Ramparts

This stage introduces a new enemy: the Octosniper. As their name suggests, these are long-range specialists capable of firing accurate streams of ink great distances. You’ll need to move in close before you can hit these guys. So stay behind cover or hidden in your ink to avoid being targeted—keep an eye on the Octosniper’s green targeting laser to determine which way he’s looking. Seekers are a great way to distract Octosnipers, causing them to turn and follow the device until it explodes, so use Seekers as distractions. Stealthily sneak up on this first Octosniper until you can get close enough to take him out with a Splat Bomb.

There are three Octosnipers watching this area, including two on the distant moving platform. When the distant Octosnipers have moved out of sight, sneak up on the lone Octosniper, near the cargo net, and take him out. Continue toward the moving platform, eliminating the Octotrooper along the way. When you’re close enough to the moving platform, stay behind cover and bombard it with Splat Bombs until both Octosnipers are eliminated.

Sunken Scroll

Once the Octosnipers have been eliminated, return to the cargo net and drop through in squid form to locate this level’s Sunken Scroll.

The ramps here are watched by four Octosnipers and two Octotroopers. You’re at a severe height disadvantage here, so take it slow. Stay behind cover and use Splat Bombs and Seekers to ink a path ahead. Seekers are great for creating narrow ink trails up the ramps. Ink your way closer and closer to each enemy until you can swim right next to them and splat them. Or if you prefer, stay behind cover and hit them indirectly with Splat Bombs. Keep inching your way along these ramps until you reach the Zapfish.
