Skylanders® SuperChargers eGuide Skystones Overdrive

Tips for Winning Skystone Overdrive

Don’t use powerful Skystones when they’re not necessary

A Skystone’s “extra” attack value does not carry through to damage the player. If your Skystone with three attack hits a Skystone with one health, the two extra attack points go to waste.

Use Special Abilities at the right time

Learn how each special abiity works so you never waste these valuable effects. Special abilities, like destroying a random Skystone or increasing friendly Skystone attacks, work only when other Skystones are on the board. The ability to place Skystones in empty spots only works when there are empty spots on your side of the board.

Hot Steak is a true wildcard

Its special ability description is “Makes the board sizzle.” But it is more accurate to say “Does whatever it wants.” Placing Hot Steak doesn’t mean it will stay on your side of the board or that it will trade locations with an opponent’s card. You may end up with an empty board while your opponent has a bonus card in play! Should you use it? That depends on your tolerance for frustration.

Match Elements

The +1 Health for Skystones that are the same Element as your active Skylander may not seem like much, but every little bit helps. Remember that Wheellock’s and Small Fry’s special abilities boost only Skystones that survive an opponent’s turn. In addition, Dark, Light, and Water vehicles have an ability related to using cards of the same Element.

If you’re looking to build a stacked deck, here is the number of cards per Element.
