There are over 100 total Skystones, but your playing deck is 20 Skystones (your vehicle Skystone is not included in that total), meaning you can create decks that work well with each other, or are tailored to a certain vehicle.
Most Skystones are acquired throughout the Adventure. You find them while exploring or in the shop and Wishing Well at Skylanders Academy. You also gain Skystones by winning matches during the Adventure. The other way to acquire certain Skystones is to use Traps from Skylanders Trap Team. You instantly acquire the Skystone of the villain held in the trap when it’s placed in the Portal of Power.
