Offensive Scouting Report

  • With the release of QB Robert Griffin III, the Redskins are looking to fully involve Kirk Cousins. The scheme should allow him to make the easy throws and boost his confidence. While he isn’t the Redskins’ first pick over what was once the promising RGIII, he did extremely well last season and looks good for this year.
  • Don’t forget about HB Keith Marshall, who is an excellent all-around player. The more you can get him on the field in those pistol sets, the better.
  • The Redskins’ receiving corps is still one of the fastest in the league, but make sure to round it out with some size via the draft.

Defensive Scouting Report

  • The Redskins transformed their defensive line and this squad seems to be pretty solid now. They should now be able to shut down the run without sending much help.
  • LB Ryan Kerrigan has control of the defense for the Redskins and has the experience to keep them in top shape. Lock him up for the long term, because you can’t live without his 91 Power Moves rating.
  • The Redskins’ secondary is average, but has a real chance to develop into a solid man-coverage unit with the addition of CB Josh Norman. Start to develop the young talent, even if they take some bumps early.

SCHEDULE

Key Players

  • DeSean’s experience in the league will give him the advantage against most corners, not to mention his completion record is extremely high.
  • Jackson may not have the size to take on most one to one matches, but his Speed rating will manage to beat most CBs on the run.
  • The addition of Josh Norman is exactly what the Redskin’s defense needed, an experienced corner who knows what he’s doing.
  • Norman’s zone defense is ridiculously high. Take advantage of this and play it to your scheme.
  • Continue to work on Dixon’s Carry rating to improve his overall skill set.
  • Take control of Dixon and use the new ball-carrier mechanic. His agility can get you points in the red zone.
  • Jones is an excellent choice to spell. Take control of the speed back position on the team.
  • Jones will need an upgrade to ball carrier vision if he plans on taking over the bulk of the carries in the future.
