Tennessee Titans

Offense

The Titans’ playbook is a solid way to test your opponent’s pass defense. If you can come out early and spread them out, you will see your ground game open up in the second half.

Key Formation

Singleback Wing Trips Open is one of the few under-center formations that has enough versatility to run all game. Pound the ball up the middle, and then use quick throws to get it out in space.

Key Player

TE with 75+ Run Block

Formations

  • SINGLEBACK: Ace Wing, Deuce Close, Ace Twins, Pair Tight Twins, Ace Pair Twins, Bunch Ace, Doubles, Wing Trips Open
  • I-FORM: Pro, Pro Twins, Tight, Tight Pair
  • STRONG: H TE Flip, Tight Pair
  • WEAK: Close
  • PISTOL: Y-Trips
  • GUN: Doubles, Doubles Wk, Y-Trips HB Wk, Wing Trips Titan Wk, Trips TE, Bunch Wk, Tight Flex, Double Stack, Dbls Y-Flex Offset, Y-Trips Open, Trey Y-Flex, Trey Open, Empty Base Flex

The Titans’ playbook is another that benefits from having two TEs available, even if the second one is mainly a run blocker.

OFFENSIVE Draft Targets

  • WR (SPD, RTE, CTH)
  • QB (SAC, MAC, ACC)
  • TE (RBK, STR, CIT)

Defense

Tennessee boasts a 3-4 defensive front that is built around strong defenders on the line. If you get a few options at LB, aim for whoever is the strongest of the bunch.

Key Formation

The Big Dime 2-3-6 Will can give you some flexibility depending on how your draft ends up. As long as you get one strong defensive end or tackle, you will be fine.

Key Player

KEY PLAYER CB with 80+ Zone Coverage

Formations

  • 3-4: Odd, Under, Over, Even, Solid
  • 4-4: Split
  • BIG DIME: 2-3-6 Will, 1-4-6
  • QUARTER: 1-3-7, 3 Deep

Picking up the tallest defenders available is one way to make your zone coverage seem even tougher to QBs. Taller defenders can reach a higher point on their jumps and can often swat down passes that other players can’t reach.

DEFENSIVE Draft Targets

  • FS (ZCV, SPD, PRC)
  • DE/DT (STR, PMV, BSH)
  • OLB (SPD, ZCV, PUR)
