Offensive Scouting Report
- The Jets are still going with QB Geno Smith, so work on upgrading his accuracy. He’s a strong passer, but hitting his target isn’t necessarily a strength.
- The Jets have built up a stable of power HBs. Keep an eye out to see who has the hot hand and stick with him. In the passing game, the best option is Bilal Powell unless you can trade or find someone in free agency.
- The WR position has really filled out nicely and should give the QB some confidence when throwing to the outside. Keep developing your young TE Jace Amaro as he has the size and speed to become a dominant TE in this league.
Defensive Scouting Report
- The Jets’ defensive line doesn’t have to bring up extra defenders in the box to stop the run. This allows you to focus on your LBs and get them into a good position to make plays.
- The Jets’ LBs could be pretty solid in a 4-3 style defense. Keep this in mind after year one with all the depth available and consider going with a hybrid scheme. If you don’t have the guts to blitz heavily, just send your front four after the passer.
- The Jets are back to having a dominant secondary. Utilize their speed and man coverage ability to send aggressive blitzes that will get your defense off the field on third down.
SCHEDULE
Key Players
- Marshall no longer has the speed to burn anyone downfield, but he is still reliable in the red zone.
- There won’t be a CB in the league who can consistently win a battle at the line of scrimmage with Marshall, so use that to your advantage.
- Wilkerson is an amazing talent who should be the face of your franchise for the long term.
- Having Wilkerson in the lineup allows you to worry less about the run and focus on setting up to stop the pass.
- Lee has a great Block Shed rating, allowing him to play zone defense to easily stop the outside run.
- Use Lee to fill any gaps you see in the defense if you read the offense. He can get to the ball quickly and his finesse move should give you a bit of an advantage.
- Don’t let his Overall rating fool you, Ross is a solid player that who deserves more playing time than you think. Consider moving him up in your roster.
- If anything, use Ross as a decoy; he’s fast and will get open, but unless you’re in the red zone, he may not catch the ball as much as you’d like.
