Offensive Scouting Report

  • QB Blake Bortles has done well in his first couple seasons with the franchise. Continue to improve his completion percentage with easy throws to help cut down on turnovers.
  • HB T.J. Yeldon had an excellent season last year and is most deserving of the carries in the backfield. While you have some nice backups with unique styles, work on turning him into a franchise back. The offensive line is coming along nicely and should help.
  • The receiving corps is still very young, but now with a season under most of their belts they have a little bit of experience in the league. Think young and figure out which players really fit with your scheme. Cecil Shorts has moved on, and a new leader will need to step up.

Defensive Scouting Report

  • The Jags’ defensive line has finesse off the edge and power in the middle. Make sure to note who can stop the run; otherwise, you may never get into a long-yardage situation where you can tee off on the opposing passer.
  • LB Paul Posluszny is the anchor in the middle of the defense, but Telvin Smith proved last season he has what it takes to become a starter. Continue to develop him and look for a veteran at LOLB until the draft.
  • The Jaguars have the initial pieces for a solid man coverage secondary. This will all be made easier if the pass rush can get to the QB.

SCHEDULE

Key Players

  • Robinson has the size to win in any CB matchup in the league, as well as an impressive Spectacular Catch rating.
  • Find someone to play the other side of the field because Robinson has a huge target on his back at all times.
  • Amukamara is an all around great corner. Despite his size, Amukamara has a high enough PRC to beat most receivers to the ball.
  • Being a part of an already strong corner corps, Amukamara is a superb team leader.
  • Ramsey is young, raw talent who will only add to the corner corps. Focus on his PRC if you want him to become an all-around superstar.
  • Ramsey has the size to be able to handle more matchups than your average WR. Use this to set your slots.
  • Use Cyprien in most formations. He has many skill sets, but work on his ability to pick up on the situation.
  • Jonathan still has the speed and agility to cover any holes in the defense.
