Offense
For players who want a power run-style offense without sacrificing the shotgun formations, Seattle is a great selection.
Key Formation
Gun Ace Offset can be an every-down formation if you establish the run game from shotgun and learn to use play action. The Read Option in this formation really adds another dimension if you grab a mobile QB in the draft.
Key Player
While a back with 90+ Trucking is ideal, the real key is a QB who has 80+ Speed and will force the defense to commit a defender to slowing him down.
Formations
- SINGLEBACK: Deuce Wing, Ace Pair, Ace Pair Flex, Bunch Ace, Hawk Doubles
- I-FORM: H Pro, H Slot, H Tight, H Twin Pair
- STRONG: H TE Flip, H Slot Flex, H Pair TE
- PISTOL: Strong Slot, Ace, Doubles Flex Wing
- GUN: Split Hawk, Ace Offset, Ace Twins Offset, Doubles Offset, Doubles Wing Wk, Y-Trips Hawk, Wing Offset Wk, Trio Offset, Bunch Wk, Tight Slots, Double Stack, Spread Y-Slot, Trey Y-Flex, Trips Y Iso, Empty Hawk
Picking up a QB who has some speed can really frustrate opponents who think they have the HB stopped, only to see the QB keep the ball on a read.
OFFENSIVE Draft Targets
- HB (TRK, STR, CAR)
- QB (SPD, PAC, SAC)
- C (STR, RBK, IPB)
Defense
The mix of coverages in the Seattle playbook is outstanding if you score a rangy FS. Otherwise, find a defensive line who can overwhelm the offensive line with speed.
Key Formation
The 46 Bear Under is a great way to test your opponent’s commitment to the run game early.
Key Player
OLB with 90+ Acceleration
Formations
- 4-3: Normal, Under, Over, Over Plus, Wide 9
- 46: Bear Under
- NICKEL: Normal, Double A Gap, Wide 9
- DIME: Normal
- DOLLAR: 3-2-6
- QUARTER: Normal, 3 Deep
Even without drafting a dominant secondary, you should be able to mix up your coverages enough to confuse your opponent for a half.
DEFENSIVE Draft Targets
- FS (SPD, MCV, ZCV)
- OLB (SPD, ACC, FMV)
- CB (ZCV, MCV, PRS)
