JAMAAL CHARLES (RB), KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
Jamaal Charles has been one of the best running backs in the last several years, but past injuries and the fact that he turns 30 this season could result in lower stats as he moves past his prime. A good amount of the Chiefs’ offense goes through him, so if he’s feeling good, he could still be productive. He is not necessarily a bad pick, but it may be best to use your early picks on safer options.

JORDAN REED (TE), WASHINGTON REDSKINS
Jordan Reed had a great breakout season in 2015 with 952 yards and 11 touchdowns, placing him very high among tight ends. He is the favorite target of Kirk Cousins and has the potential for a big year. A rough, injury-prone past makes him a risky choice, though. He’s not a bad selection for your tight end, but look for better and safer picks.

BRANDON MARSHALL (WR), NEW YORK JETS
Marshall had an excellent season in 2015, placing among the best receivers in yardage and touchdowns. It’s currently unknown who will be throwing to him, he is creeping up in age at 32, and Devin Smith could steal some of the action. Brandon Marshall may get you decent points this season, but this is not certain. Make sure he is the best choice available when your turn comes around.

JONATHAN STEWART (RB), CAROLINA PANTHERS
Playing on the explosive Panthers’ offense, there are plenty of opportunities to get into the end zone, especially if the team can to protect Cam Newton more often. Jonathan Stewart put up good numbers in 2015 considering he only played in 13 games, but a history of injuries has put wear and tear on his legs over his first eight seasons. He does have the potential to put up great stats, but he’s a bit of a risk and the other Panther backs will also be fighting for more carries.

MARK INGRAM (RB), NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
Mark Ingram has long been hyped as a must-have running back and is set to be taken early again this year. Since being drafted in 2011, though, he has never finished very high in scoring among running backs. He is approaching that magical age of 27 and remains in a potentially high-powered offense, so if he can remain healthy this could be the year. There are safer choices that should be prioritized before him.
