Offensive Scouting Report

QB Sam Bradford is still getting experience, but now that he has a full season under his belt this year should show some growth. He is a solid and accurate QB and has a strong line to protect him.
The Eagles’ backfield is still in a bit of a transition, but it’s a good one. HB Ryan Matthews is an excellent runner who should do well this season. Make sure to get Darren Sproles and Wendell Smallwood involved, because they are both talented in their own ways.
The Eagles picked up WR Rueben Randle this season during free agency. Look to build the rookies up while playing Randle. Jordan Matthews should continue to improve as he is still young.

Defensive Scouting Report

Fletcher Cox has developed into a dominant player along the defensive line and is a perfect scheme fit for the Eagles. While the rest of the line is solid, continue to develop their strengths to help support the LBs in the run game.
The LB corps is still strong and that has a lot to do with Connor Barwin, who developed into an excellent pass rusher. In the MLB spot, Mychal Kendricks showed he had the skills to go with his raw ability and turned into the player many fans had been waiting to see.
The Eagles are big with the excellent zone defender Byron Maxwell, who has great size. He fits nicely with FS Malcolm Jenkins, who needs to lead the secondary and bring up the rest of the young talent.

Key Players

Continue to work on Ertz’s speed to round out his skill set.
Zach Ertz is a great blocker and can be used on the run, but he’s also ideal for short cuts over the top.

Cox is a rare player who can rush the passer as a 3-4 end, but work on his strength in the run game.
Cox should be in the game on all passing downs. Sub him in at DT when you go to passing defenses.

Smallwood won’t be a starter right away, but he serves as a great backup for Ryan Matthews. Once he finds his place in the NFL, he will be unstoppable.
Smallwood has a good Trucking rating and using him head-on will provide positive results.

Wentz has a bright future in the league. He is second to another young QB, so build them together for different purposes.
Build Wentz up for a season or two and it’s possible he could take over for Bradford.
