Offense

The Texans’ offense has some different run plays that will really benefit a patient player who can make good cuts at the line of scrimmage. Consider beefing up one side of your offensive line to run behind on most of your play calls.

Key Formation

Gun Tight Doubles On is the formation that you should try when you need a first down conversion. If you keep yourself in manageable situations with the run game, there are multiple ways to move the chains.

This playbook has some nice rollout plays that allow you to attempt deep throws. If an elite WR appears after you secure your HB, go for him!

Defense

The Texans’ entire defense is built around versatility in their front seven to create an intense 3-4 scheme. The great news is that no matter which players you draft, you can always use packages and substitutions to get your talent in a spot to make plays.

Key Formation

The 3-4 Under is an excellent base formation that can stop the run and bring pressure off the edge if the offense tries to fool you with play action.

• BIG DIME: 2-3-6, 2-3-6 Will
• QUARTER: 1-3-7, 3 Deep

Finding a DT with enough athleticism to rush the passer from every spot is rare. If you only find a (more common) run-stuffing DT, try to use a DE to get after the QB from the inside of the line.
