Sleeper 5
DONTE MONCRIEF (WR), INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
Donte Moncrief showed great promise in his rookie year and continued to improve last season, but has disappointed as a fantasy draft pick. With Andrew Luck fully healthy and a couple of key targets gone, this could be a breakout season for Donte. He is a worthy middle-round pickup who has the potential to get 1000 receiving yards. Watch out, though, as he could be snatched up before this point.
Sleeper 4
JAY CUTLER (QB), CHICAGO BEARS
With some work done on the offensive line and new head coach John Fox, Jay Cutler could have an even better season than last year. Kevin White joins the team after not playing last season and Alshon Jeffery is back to full health. These high-powered wide receivers give Cutler better options up the field. There is definitely some risk in picking Cutler as he has struggled with turnovers in the past and the offensive line has lost key veterans, but he can be that sleeper quarterback that gives you a few good weeks.
Sleeper 3
JARED COOK (TE), GREEN BAY PACKERS
Jared Cook may have come up short in past years, but with Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball; this may just be his year. He should be fully healthy from foot surgery and is expected to be a starter along with Richard Rodgers. He may not play every down, but he has a chance to be a key target for Rodgers. With his size and speed, Cook gives the Packers the tight end option they lacked last year.
Sleeper 2
MATT JONES (RB), WASHINGTON REDSKINS
Matt Jones had a productive offseason as he worked on fundamentals and ball security. He is expected to be a big part of Washington’s run game. As long as he can hold onto the ball, he has the potential to put up big numbers. With their exellent receiving corps and sufficient offensive line, the run game could open up—giving Jones ample opportunity to gain yardage. He may be worth a shot if you find yourself in need of a running back and the best options have all been taken.
Sleeper 1
DEREK CARR (QB), OAKLAND RAIDERS
With an improved offensive line and some good weapons around him, Derek Carr is primed for a breakout season. Showing great progression in his second season, 2016 should be even better. The offensive line is built for the run and in turn may reduce pass attempts, but this should make the play action more effective and improve his efficiency. An emergence of tight end Clive Walford and high expectations for wide receiver Amari Cooper mean Carr should be able to spread the ball around and put up good yardage.
