Offense

The Miami playbook features multiple shotgun formations and can really be solid for a player who is balanced but has a bit more of a pass-first mentality. You don’t have to run if the numbers in the box aren’t in your favor.

The Dolphins’ playbook is another that only improves with the presence of a mobile QB. You don’t need a speedster, but the ability to pick up a first down when scrambling on third and 5 is important.

Defense

The Dolphins have all of the traditional defensive formations of a 4-3 playbook, so generating pressure without using too many exotic blitzes will be important. If you play an opponent with a spread passing game who loaded up on receivers, use the Dollar 3-2-6.

The 46 Bear Under provides a unique look to most defenses and can shut down the inside run if the 4-3 Wide 9 isn’t getting it done.

The Dolphins have some really wide alignments on defense, so don’t go for strength off the edge; look for speed instead.
