Offensive Scouting Report

  • Coming off a championship, the Denver Broncos are ready to go all the way again. However, they will have some challenges replacing the retired Peyton Manning. Picking up Paxton Lynch should prove to be useful, but he is no immediate replacement for the future Hall of Famer.
  • The offense is going to need some serious rebuilding, but with the transactions of TE Garrett Graham, and rookies HB Davontae Booker and WR Mose Frazier, the bench has gotten deeper. We will see how they turn out.
  • Coach Kubiak’s Zone run is still an effective offense and will fit well with both the new talent and veterans.
  • Defense wins games, and with the offense currently in a major rebuild phase, the Bronco defense stays strong. Some of the best defenders in the league play for Denver and this season will continue to prove this.
  • LOLB Von Miller had an amazing season last year and has an even stronger defense this year to back him up.
  • Keep your eye out for any free agents to upgrade your RE or DT positions because that might be the only area that could prove to be a problem for the Broncos’ defense.

SCHEDULE

Key Players

  • With a rookie QB, you need some experience to handle the ball. Sanders is that player. His ability to catch the ball in traffic should relieve some pressure from the QB.
  • Use Sanders’ speed and acceleration to get open and run plays that will allow him to run his route. Most CBs won’t be able to cover him.
  • Von Miller is at his best and again ready to have an excellent season. Play Miller however you want as the odds are he can play it well.
  • Use his speed to bluff the offense. Miller’s Awareness rating will take over and put him in position before the offense even realizes they’re covered.
  • Lynch has major pressure on him as he attempts to lead the team after a championship and the departure of Peyton Manning; however, he has the potential to do better than most rookies.
  • Even though it’s his first year in the pros, his Accuracy rating is very high and having experienced receivers should result in a high completion rate this year.
  • This rookie’s zone coverage is incredibly useful and should prove valuable to the Broncos’ defense.
  • Parks is fast and quick at short distances. Play him close to the play and you may see lots of interceptions from him this year.
