Wulvers possess a dangerous combination of strength and speed. Powerful melee attacks and excellent evasive skills make a lone Wulver a challenge, let alone a group of them. Use Leviathan’s Frost effect to slow them down and Atreus’ arrows to Weaken and Stun. Lure them into walls for increased Stun damage. It may be best to fight fire with fire. Use an aggressive, relentless approach and take them out before they have a chance to go all frenzy on Kratos.

Their melee swipes can be parried, providing a great opportunity to break their momentum. Otherwise, its relentless combo can be detrimental to Kratos’ health.

Their shoulder charge and jump attack allow them to cover ground in a hurry. They may also combine their strikes into devastating combos, so always be ready with a dodge roll. It’s possible to parry a Wulver’s strike to stagger the beast, and then follow up with a counterattack.

When a Wulver lets out a howl, its speed increases, making it even more challenging. Keep these guys in view at all times, and stay on the move to lessen the chance of a surprise attack. Atreus’ Shock Arrows can stagger the beast and interrupt its howl. If the Wulver manages to get ahold of Kratos, mash the circle button to escape.

In-Game Tips: “A Wulver’s howl is a sign they are going into a frenzy, where they can attack with incredible speed.”

“If Father finds himself caught in the Wulver’s frenzy attack, I may be able to draw the Wulver’s attention with a well-placed arrow.”

Fierce Wulver

The Fierce Wulver is an even tougher breed of Wulver. If it lets out a howl, its strength increases significantly. Always keep these guys in front of Kratos, and use Leviathan to slow them down. Atreus should keep the arrows flying to Weaken and Stun.

Fierce Wulvers have a dash attack that allows them to close in on their target in a hurry. Watch for it to drop to all fours along with a red flash, and then evade to the side to avoid taking damage.

In-Game Tips: “When a Wulver crouches on all fours, they become very difficult to hit. We need to be on our guard and not leave ourselves open to counter attack.”

“The other Wulver gets a lot faster after it starts howling. This one seems to get a lot stronger. We should be really, really careful after this one starts howling.”
