Before you enter the archives, find the Greater London Dispatch newspaper (44) on the table under the sailboat painting. The headline story describes the brutal Westminster Bridge battle the day before. Then walk over to the archive door and press 
to enter.
Search the archives
The archives room is loaded with goodies. Follow our search order to make sure you get all of the inspectables and collectibles available before you trigger the scene-ending cinematic. (Once the cutscene begins, you can’t go back and explore.)
- First, veer left and inspect the letter (45) on the desktop from Lord Darwin to Lord Hastings regarding Half-breed remains unearthed in a settlement in New Guinea. The coordinates on the back mark the location.
- Go around to the other side of the atrium to open the cabinet under the bookshelf. Galahad rummages through books and finds the “Chopin, Prelude in E-minor, ‘Dying Away’” phonograph cylinder (46). (There is no written transcript in your Archive, but you can listen to the famous piece of music.)
- Proceed to the far end of the hall and inspect the photo (47) on the ornate chest. The back describes it as Auguste Bartholdi’s Paris workshop. Bartholdi sculpted the Statue of Liberty—you can see its head in progress in the photo. (Coincidentally, another famous Bartholdi work is the outdoor bronze sculpture of Marquis de Lafayette in New York City’s Union Square Park.)
- Turn around and veer rightward to the first bookshelf and open the marked drawer. Galahad finds “The Captain’s Testament” phonograph cylinder (48). The tormented last will of retired Captain Emmerich D. Douglas refers to dark secrets attributed to his service to the United India Corps. It also refers to “my only true friend Sebastien.” Sebastien Malory, perhaps? This is the last item you can collect or inspect in the archives.
Now start searching through the other locations (49-52) marked by action icons in the archives. You find nothing important in any of these locations. Galahad merely shuffles papers around as he examines each spot. Searching a few of these places triggers the cutscene.
Lakshmi pulls a large white volume from a drawer: a log of all United India Company trade routes for 1886-87. It shows the company with a foothold in every Indian state, as well as newly expanded routes into the Americas. Could this be the smoking gun evidence that Galahad seeks?
Suddenly, Lakshmi notices that her man Finley is missing. Odd noises emanate from a nearby office (53)—its door is ajar, drawing the queen and Galahad to investigate. What they encounter is an abomination of the highest order.
