Overview

This cold, icy, and mountainous planet is the home of tauntauns and wampas, but it also hosts the very important Echo Base. The temperatures can be unforgiving, and it is hardly habitable, but this may be why the Rebellion decided to build their covert base here in an attempt to keep it secret from the Empire. Eventually, the Empire found Echo Base, but it was ultimately lost to them during the battle on Hoth. Echo Base housed an extremely important shield generator. The surface is very bright, making few things easy to see while fighting on Hoth, especially the snowtroopers’ white attire. With Outpost Beta still standing during Star Wars Battlefront, you can live the epic moments against AT-AT walkers, snowtroopers, and the defending Rebel Alliance.

Other than a few extremely large mountain ranges, Hoth greatly lacks natural cover. For the most part, you are left out in the open as you attempt to push forward on your enemy’s position. With the exception of the Rebel Base on this planet, you should make the most of the cover-providing Star Cards like Personal Shield and Squad Shield. It is also a good idea to equip the Berserker Trait Star Card. This Trait gives you a bonus when regenerating your health, which is good if you just barely survive while you are out of cover. By contrast, the Rebel Base on Hoth is indoors, and with the amount of debris, cargo crates, and ships housed inside, there is plenty of cover for you to work with. Take aim, shoot straight, and move quickly, and you should have no problem playing any mode here on Hoth.
