Defend your troop transports.

The side that takes out the most enemy ships wins.

Overview

Take the fight to the sky with Fighter Squadron. The objective of this game mode is to take out as many ships as you can and destroy the enemy transport ship when given the opportunity. Don’t ignore your friendly ship when your team’s troops are being transported, as they are worth the most amount of points. You can defeat ships with the X-wing, A-wing, TIE fighter, TIE interceptor, and (naturally) the Millennium Falcon and Slave I. Use these ships to dogfight your adversaries as well as the bots that occupy the sky. Focus strongly on taking out enemy players, as they are worth more points for your team than bots, though the true value is in the transport ships.

Fighter Squadron Tactics

Shooting down bots is good for racking up quick points because they are easy to kill, but it takes three bots to equal the amount of points you receive for killing an enemy player. Take down your targets as quickly as possible to rack up points in between transport phases. This gives your team a boost going into the phases, making victory much easier to achieve.

Transport ships are by far the most important part of Fighter Squadron. A single transport takedown rewards your team with 10 times the score that a single enemy player defeat would grant you. With enough fighters, the transports should go down rather quickly, but it’s important to get to them as rapidly as possible. You can bet there will be defenses inbound fast. TIE fighters are much faster than the Rebel starfighters, but the Rebels can take a little more of a beating with their shield bonus. Use this tactic when attacking or defending the transports.

There are many tokens in the center of the map, normally at low altitudes to create a bit of a challenge when you attempt to collect them. There are Repair tokens, Refresh tokens that refresh your ship’s power-ups, and (most importantly) one Hero token that spawns the collector in that team’s hero ship when collected. Whether it be Han Solo and Chewbacca in the Millennium Falcon or Boba Fett in the Slave I, having a hero on the battlefield more than benefits your team. Use these hero ships to take down the transport ships exponentially faster, pushing your team even closer to victory.
