Location: Hoth
Weapon: A280C Blaster Rifle
Opponents: Probe Droids
Difficulty: Very Easy
Mission Brief
Our scanners have picked up possible Imperial signals around the base. Move out and investigate. Eliminate any potential threats before they can alert the Empire to our presence. We cannot afford to be found out.
A tutorial is available if you press the Use button at the main menu. This short mission runs you through the basics of Star Wars Battlefront. You receive an Achievement/Trophy for finishing the tutorial, so it is worth completing even if you feel comfortable with the controls. Note that this is outside of the Missions tab and does not count toward any of the missions-specific Achievements.
Make your way to the designated location. Use the left stick to move to the marker ahead. Points of interest within range are pointed out on the scanner, located in the lower-left corner of the HUD. Enemies show up in red.
Investigate the gorge ahead. Run down the hill into the gorge, and jump the rocks as you proceed up the other side.
Investigate unidentified object. Sprint up the hill to the next marker, and crouch behind the boulders. Just ahead, an Imperial Probe Droid scouts the area.
Destroy the Imperial Probe Droid. Aim down the sights by holding the Zoom button, and fire at the droid until it explodes in defeat. It is perfectly okay to hip fire at the enemy, but you do lose a little accuracy.
Make your way to the designated location. Once you’ve taken care of the droid, continue on to the next objective marker. Another Probe Droid patrols in the distance. Again, hold the Zoom button down and destroy the machine. Note that your weapon has some kick to it, so fire in bursts to take your target down. Another marker appears in the distance. Traverse the rocky terrain until you reach the spot.
Destroy the Imperial Probe Droid. You are given the Ion Grenade Star Card, and it is equipped in the Left Ability slot. Turn to another Probe Droid that appears nearby, and press the Left Card button to toss the anti-vehicle explosive in its direction. As long as the grenade detonates close enough, the droid is taken out.
Get the power-up. A new marker shows up just ahead. Run over to it, and grab the power-up that lies on the ground. A Smart Rocket shows up just below your hand in the lower-right corner of the HUD. Pressing the Left and Right Card buttons at the same time activates this new Power Ability.
Destroy the Imperial Probe Droid. Spot a fourth Probe Droid in the distance, and equip the rocket launcher. Aim through the scope, and blow the droid out of the air.
