Run and gun while stealing cargo from the enemy and preventing your own cargo from being captured.
Objectives
Bring the enemy cargo to your base.
Defend your cargo from the enemy.
The side with the most cargo in the end wins.
Overview
Cargo is similar to an average capture the flag game, but it is slightly more complex. Yes, the point of this game mode is to capture the enemy’s cargo and bring it back to your base, but every time your team or the other steals a piece of cargo, they are literally doing just that. When a piece of cargo is stolen from your base, you lose that cargo piece until it is returned. Although the first team to collect 10 pieces of cargo is the winner, each team starts with five. There is a finite amount of cargo on the battlefield, so this game is similar to capture the flag, but it is also a game of tug-of-war.
Cargo Tactics
There are two general tactics to playing Cargo on any map, and the first one is the run and gun tactic. Run and gun is literally just that: it is your job to attack the enemy base, do everything possible to take the cargo, and bring the cargo back to your team’s base. You can do this in many ways, but one of the more favorable strategies is running around the outside perimeter of the map, avoiding any of the major action that may create a challenge for you.
The other general strategy is a strong defense, or camping method, as your victims may claim. One of the best defenses in Star Wars Battlefront is not finding one great spot from which to sit and take out enemies, but finding several that you can rotate through to watch multiple angles and avoid getting flanked by incoming foes. Of course, it is much easier to defend a location if you have friends helping you. This is a great opportunity to use the partner system and decide that you want your duo to stick strictly to defense. With the right communication, your defense can become impenetrable.
When running with the cargo, remember that you cannot use a Jump Pack to launch yourself forward, as you are too heavy. The Jump Pack is a great asset to use in Cargo for making it to the other team’s base or protecting your friendly cargo carrier, but as soon as you have the cargo, you are forced to run all the way back.
