Waypoint 1
A mishap almost finishes your mission before it begins at the start of your infiltration into the caves: A cave-in sends you and Diaz sprawling, nearly over the edge of a cliff, and throws your rifle down among rocks patrolled by dozens of enemies.
You have only the 15 rounds in your pistol and your stealth to retrieve your rifle and take on all the enemies in the cave system.
Waypoint 2
Leave Diaz and take the first wooden staircase. Diaz watches over you and gives you verbal cues from his better vantage point.
Listen to him carefully as you sneak through the caves. When Diaz says stop and let the first enemy patrol pass, wait in the shadows and don’t engage.
Waypoint 3
After the first enemy patrol passes, climb down to the stairs’ landing. You’ll see a searchlight illuminating the bridge and walkways below.
Time your run so that you sprint over the bridge just after the searchlight sweeps over it, and before it sweeps back.
Waypoint 4
Turn left after the bridge and slip into the dark shadows. Look for the guard standing by the water.
He gazes out at the underground stream, so it shouldn’t be difficult to sneak up and stealth kill from behind.
Waypoint 5
Go down the next set of stairs and stay close to the wall on your right. Several enemies talk around a campfire, and it’s not wise to engage them.
Use the cover on the right wall to slip quietly around the campfire.
When you reach the far end of the campfire, you’ll get very close to the enemies. Drop prone and stick to cover as you crawl past them and into the shadows of the large tree near the dock.
Act 3: Secret 5
The first secret in the cave system will take a bit of thievery to obtain. It rests in a basket next to campfire enemies, but they can see you if you approach it directly. Drop prone and crawl up to the large tree next to the basket.
With the tree’s cover, you should be able to reach up and nab the monk statue without alerting the enemies around the campfire.
Waypoint 6
After the tree, the path splits left and right. When you hear Diaz tell you to avoid the next patrol by jumping in the water, dash to the right and dive off the dock into the water below.
Swim underwater and stay out of sight from the patrol above you. Come up for air when you reach the far dock, away from prying enemy eyes.
Waypoint 7
Head up the stairs at the dock. However, be careful as you reach the summit. A lone guard stands sentry, and he looks over his shoulder often and directly at the stairs.
Time your stealth kill for when he looks away from the stairs, and be very quick about it.
Act 3: Secret 6
The second secret in mission 8 is protected by an enemy. When Diaz suggests you take the upper path, you’ll spot a lone guard walking out on patrol and then walking back into a side tunnel.
If you want the secret, instead of bypassing the enemy, tiptoe up behind him in the tunnel and perform a stealth kill. The statue rests on a crate next to the fallen enemy.
