Waypoint 22
Walk slowly up the stairs. Look for an alcove on your right at the top of the stairs. An enemy repairs the breaker box in the alcove. Sneak up behind and perform a stealth kill.
Around the next bend you can either stealth kill a second guard or slip by him unseen. If you want to rack up your stealth kills, quietly creep up the ramp and knife him in front of the locked street gate.
Turn the corner and enter the next room. Climb up the wall in the back and crawl along the duct that runs under the street grates.
Drop down at the end of the duct and take the ramp up to the outside. An enemy patrols near the top of the ramp. Watch your minimap and move up when he clears out.
Waypoint 23
Wait for the enemy guard to continue his patrol and walk far enough away that you can sneak past to the stairs leading down to the park’s outer path.
On the outer path you’re shielded from enemies until you reach the next corner. Catch your breath and prepare for one of the trickiest shots in the game.
Waypoint 24
At the corner, scout out the main path. You should spot three enemies guarding the next intersection. To cross undetected, you must eliminate all three.
Crawl across the path and into the foliage on the other side to get a better angle on the enemy group.
Because you don’t want the alarm to go up, you’re going to attempt a triple kill shot here.
Try to get at least two of the enemies and you’ll be able to quickly pick off the one you missed and still keep things quiet.
Special Shot: Triple Kill
To execute the triple kill shot, line up the two talking guards as if you were going for a double kill. Wait for the third guard to pass behind them on patrol.
Pull the trigger at the precise moment that they overlap to eliminate all three with a single bullet.
Waypoint 25
Continue to the next park corner. Slide close to the ivy-covered wall and inch up on the corner, but don’t walk around it.
An enemy stands on guard at this corner. Quickly jump out and take him down with a stealth kill before he can engage you in hand-to-hand combat.
Waypoint 26
Head out into the rubble-strewn area of the park to escape the rest of the enemies. If an enemy spots you, immediately drop down from your crouch to the prone position.
Navigate the debris in front of the destroyed buildings and walk along a section of wall to reach the area in front of the hotel.
Waypoint 27
Climb up the rubble until you see a wooden ramp. Turn right and look for your next enemy.
Sneak up on the lone guard in the ruins to set up your next ambush point.
Crawl out on the wooden platform in front of the guard you just killed. Break out your binoculars to survey the scene in front of the hotel.
Expert Mode
- Distance: Approximately 60 meters
- Wind: 1 meters/second (blowing right)
- Magnification: 9x
The shots in front of the hotel are all close, so distance really isn’t a factor; the bullet will dip only slightly below the bull’s-eye.
Wind also will not affect the shot. However, you must take down the targets in order to minimize the danger, and even then enemies might spot you before you can kill them all quietly.
Your first two targets are near the vehicle to your lower right. One enemy repairs the front tire; the second stands near the back of the vehicle and then walks out on patrol to the far right.
When the second enemy walks over the right, zoom in on the soldier fixing the tire and clip him in the head or back. Then swing your focus to the second enemy and take him out as he pauses on the perimeter.
If you aren’t quick enough, he will double back and see his partner dead and you’ll have to shoot him at the vehicle to keep things quiet.
The remaining enemies patrol farther down the street near the hotel entrance. Ideally, you want to remove all of them quickly with only two or three shots; otherwise, you will have a shootout on your hands.
Use explosions to your advantage here. Zoom in on a grenade that is hanging on one of the guard’s belts to catch multiple enemies in a single blast, or shoot one of the oil barrels to cause a big explosion.
If you can’t take everyone out with an explosion, the remaining enemies will run for cover.
Search for each enemy, and when you discover his cover spot, wait patiently for him to pop up so you can shell him.
Act 2: Secret 11
This is another easy secret; look for the penultimate secret in Act 2 on the same desk as the medkit, next to the broken wall overlooking the Rainbow Hotel.
Sneak up behind the guard that stands near the wall, stealth kill him, and then retrieve the film reel before engaging the other enemies on the street below.
Act 2: Secret 12
Enter the Rainbow Hotel and climb the first set of stairs. If you continue on, you’ll reach the overwatch and trigger the end cut-scene.
However, if you search the area around the first landing, you’ll find the final Act 2 secret behind the glass panels on a wooden coffee table.
Waypoint 28
Run up the street after you’ve bested all the enemies out front. Once you reach the Rainbow Hotel, there are no more enemy threats in the immediate area.
Climb the stairs inside the hotel lobby. You reach the overwatch without incident. Unfortunately, there’s bad news waiting for you when you survey the grounds in front of the Parliament building.
Maddox isn’t being held captive; he’s turned traitor and has been working with Merinov the whole time.
They wanted Vladic removed so they could muscle in on his weapon stockpile, and you helped them achieve their goal.
Your new orders are to assassinate your old friend, Carl Maddox. He jumps into a truck with Merinov and they drive along a windy road filled with lots of debris. You must hit the moving target before it disappears out of sight.
Special Shot: Moving Target
The vehicle moves steadily down the road. To maximize your chance, wait until the vehicle drives down the segment of the road closest to you.
Leave your reticle in the road ahead of the truck, and when it comes into view, hold your breath to slow down time and make the shot through the windshield.
With the kill shot taken, you unsling your weapon and stare dejectedly down at what you’ve just done. You’ve killed your one-time friend, but is this the end?
