As you can imagine, it’s better to know what’s ahead of you so that you can plan accordingly. Always scout around an area before you charge in.
You may spot a hidden enemy up on a hill that you wouldn’t have noticed otherwise, or recognize a trap before it wipes out your whole mission. Also, you need to know what to expect so that you can adopt the best plan of attack, especially when you must attack in a series of rapid-fire maneuvers.
Thermal Vision
During daytime missions, your eyes generally do the job. Still, there are times when enemies are difficult to pick up, whether it’s because of the haze peering into the distance or the camouflage from surrounding vegetation.
In times like these, flip on the thermal vision and look for heat signatures instead. Enemy heat patterns will show up in all but the thickest of vegetation and the mix of colors is sometimes easier to spot at a distance.
When you have time, it’s always a good idea to toggle between normal vision and thermal vision anyway to get multiple views of the land and to catch any nasty surprises that may be waiting for you.
Night Vision
Don’t run around with your normal peepers. On nighttime missions especially, you need the use of your special vision. Night vision can brighten the darkness to like-daylight conditions, and you can certainly notice movement better with the brighter whites against the green.
In night vision mode, however, watch out for bright lights and explosions. The flash of a muzzle or a sudden explosion can temporarily blind you, and that’s all the time the enemy needs to drop you permanently.
